A/N: tbh idk what this is i just got a lot of inspo for some reason to write damon and so i did. this pretty much just flew right out of ass but i kinda like it and hopefully you guys like it too. i know itās not the show supernatural but itās still supernaturally related??? right??? idk lmk what you think, reblog if you liked it and lmk if youād want more ???
summary: damon salvator was someone that just screamed, stay away from me, but you couldnāt. no matter how many people told you to, including damon himself.
after elena was gushing, just gushing, over her boyfriend you couldnāt help yourself but feel alone and sad. you were happy that your friend finally found something that made her feel happy, alive, good again but stefan was hot and you couldnāt help but find yourself wanting a hot boy for yourself.
you also couldnāt help yourself but be attracted to stefanās brother, damon, despite all the NO!s that echoed through your friend group.
he was brooding and beautiful and his icy blue eyes had you hooked before you could even blink twice and actually form a coherent thought about the whole situation and even stefan adviced against it, āheās not that great of a person, y/n,ā he warned but you brushed him off and asked him if he was coming to the house later that night. he let out a sigh, āyes.ā
you saw it, however, the way damon acted when you werenāt around or when he thought you werenāt around. he would flirt with the bartenders and whisper into their ears making them blush and giggle and then he would disappear for a few minutes, coming back out of the bathroom with wet lips.
but when he was with you, he was all smiles and he was charming and he held the door open for you when you left the house to back to your own and he would help you clean up or set the table and instead of whispering into bartenders ears, he whispered into yours. also causing you to blush and giggle.
āi am not a good person,ā damon told you one night as he helped you to your car. the night was coming to a close and stefan and elena were in the house, cleaning up from dinner, and damon walked you outside and it was cold so you were shivering and he gave you his coat and rubbed his hands on your arms to warm up.
āarenāt you cold?ā you asked him when you took his bare arms. fuck he looked good in a black t-shirt and he looked good in the leather jacket that was now around you but he looked even better without it. he shook his head and you grabbed his wrist with one of your hands and he was right, his wrist was hot, and you played with his fingers and thatās when he said it. āwhat do you mean?ā you asked.
āiām not a good person and you really shouldnāt get wrapped up in me,ā damon warned you the same way stefan had but you brushed it off the same.
ādamon, you think i donāt see what happens at the bars? the cheerleaders?ā you asked him, hoping that maybe that would make him change his mind about his warning but, in fact, in only made it worse because he tore himself from you.
āthatās exactly my point, y/n. you see it. you see what i do and you still want my coat around your shoulders,ā he said, looking off into the distance and then his eyes landed on you and they were wide and hard and icy. āyou should go home and just let this go,ā he said, shaking his head.
you took off his coat, even though you didnāt want to and shoved it into his chest. āfine,ā you snapped before getting in your car and driving off and you didnāt want to do that and you were pissed at yourself for doing it but if everyone in the fucking world was telling you no maybe you needed to start listening.
when you got home, you called elenaās house phone and stefan answered it. āoh, hey,ā you whispered into the line.
āy/n? whatās the matter?ā he asked, instantly noticing the change in your voice and you envied elena for finding stefan. he loved her and he let himself love her and that was a lot more than you could say for damon. not that damon loved you because you never even kissed or held hands for more than half of a second but he did give you his coat and he let you drive his car once after school.
āi just, need to talk to elena,ā you told him. you heard him sigh from his side of the line.
āis this about damon? he left in a huff,ā he asked. you were happy that he left just as upset as you were. he deserved it. āy/n, i know what i said about staying away from him and iām never going to defend any of the bad things damon has done and iām not going to pretend they donāt exist but i also wonāt pretend that he hasnāt been happy since he met you and the bad things have come to a halt so if you like him you need to tell him. you need to tell him and stand your ground or else he will just push you away,ā stefan finished his speech and it left you breathless, truly.
it was the last thing you expected but it was exactly what you needed and you thanked the younger salvatore and hung up the phone, getting in your car and driving to the old salvatore boarding house. you banged on the door and you would be lying if you said you werenāt half expecting a naked girl to answer the door. someone from the bar or a cheerleader that was giving damon much better company than he clearly thought you could but instead damon answered, his black shirt hugging his muscles.
āwhat are you doing here?ā he asked, shocked. you had to think for a moment because you didnāt have a speech prepared like you probably should have and he could tell you didnāt know what the fuck you were going to say because he opened the door wider. ācome in.ā
you did. you walked in through the foyer and then into the living room, where the bar was set up and a glass of bourbon was sitting on the coffee table. āi- i donāt really,ā you started, turning back to look at him. he was leaning against the post of the archway, looking intently at you. āi think what you said is bullshit,ā you told him, plain and simple. that was all there was to it, really. āyouāre pushing me away because you think thatās what you have to do but you donāt.ā damon pushed off the post and opened his mouth to talk but you stopped him. ādonāt. i know what you think. if i really cared, would i be here?ā you asked. the thought ran through your head that you didnāt actually know what exactly all these bad things were that damon did. the things stefan was referring to but for some reason, in that moment they didnāt matter. youād deal with them when the time came.
āyou donāt get it, y/n,ā his voice was slightly raised. like he was ready to yell at you. unleash hell on you so that youād run away and never look back but his eyes were soft. āyou donāt know what iāve done. what iām capable of and what i am.ā he pointed to his chest.
ādamon,ā you whsipered, taking one step closer to him but there was still a lot of distance between you two that you wanted to close. āi like you. a lot and if we have to deal with those things later on then we will deal with them but right now all i care about is you.ā
the gap you desperately wanted closed was closed. damon took the strides to you, mumbling under his breath, āoh fuck it,ā and cupping his face in your hands. he kissed you, hard, firm, loving and like heās been wanting you for his whole life. his thumbs stroked your cheeks as his lips danced with yours and this was exactly what you imagined it to be like and you were thanking god that stefan answered the phone instead of elena because if he hadnāt, youād be eating ice cream on your couch, bitching and moaning about how unfair everything was because elena would have convinced you to forget about damon salvator but how could you ever forget about him. especially now.
