So this a post about my thoughts and mostly an update on how my eyebrows and hair have suffered through this isolation...... Hashtag help my hair and save my brows. 🙏🏻 There's so much going on I want to make sure you're listening to your heart. If you know this time takes away from your usual routine. Add a new routine that you know will make you happy. If your partner has a favorite song, play that song and dance a little in your home. If your mom loved receiving crafts from you when you were a child. Make her one today and gift it to her. Always wanted to bake some bread, go make that bread. Need a break from family? Go make the bathroom a spa with candles, your favorite slow jams, freshly cleaned towels, glass of wine and a snack. Take a long shower. Kids driving you nuts? Grab some paper plates and go sit out on a patio or lawn and pretend to be nascar drivers in a race. Then raise your arms out from your sides and fly home with them to have dinner. Dad miss fishing? Grab a bucket and fill it with water and pasta noodles. Fish with him and catch some quality time. Board games played out? Create a large tic tac toe set with cardboard. Make all the small things big things together. Daydreaming about my time in Puerto Rico as I wrap up creating timelines for my 2020 and 2021 brides. Every now and then while I'm at my desk. Breeze | Coco Plum Women's Club - who's daydreaming with me? All things postponed for me. But its giving me the much needed time I craved to reflect on my 2019 year. I met some amazing humans, reached some milestones, checked off bucket list items, got another puppy (Milo is a blessing), got a tattoo, learned more about Photography(that will never end) and sooooo much more. Let me preface this post with a little personal story. I've struggled with what is called Imposter syndrome for a little over 8 years. I've been in some interesting friendships, relationships, teams, family dynamics and tough life situations. Sounds like a lot? It was and I'm still healing from it all. No matter how much better my work was or how my communication with clients was growing. Even my confidence in my own appearance or how much stronger my faith was. Somehow there was someone around me at those vital moments chipping away at what I deemed as milestones and growth moments. Just a force of pure negativity to rain on my positive party I was truly having with myself. In turn I started to turn the volume down on my voice and allow others to speak for me. Ultimately, I started to feel like I was always wrong for feeling great. Feeling full from a session that was picked from my dreams. I'd be uploading the images and feel a rush of bliss then I would turn that volume down and think but it's not the south of France it's just south beach....let me ask you a question. Have you ever been in a real castle? I've been to a few and didn't realize it till I was standing here on an island called Monemvasia. While I was capturing the beautiful oceanside of the castle, I took a deep breath and had an ah ha moment. All the people I am inspired by and aspire to be like are really cool and so am I. I've got stories to tell and pictures to show for it! But more importantly I belong here. I am here. Not everyday will be perfect but being able to feel compassion for others and traveling across the world to capture people in love. I've been chasing the idea that everyone should feel as beautiful as they are. However, I didn't feel beautiful or worthy to be everywhere I've been or to have done what I've done in such a short amount of time. Simply because I was once tore down by people that felt comfortable enough to make me feel less than I am.
