Welcome to the family || Jane and Melinoe
Jane jumped back and took another knife prepared to fight more but then she realized that it was her mother. The girl blinked and dropped her knife “Sorry.” she said. It was hard to face her mother in that situation. She knew that if Mel noticed her yellow eyes she would also notice the great vantage that she could have over Jane and that wouldn’t be good. Jane took a deep breath and looked at the ground, not because she was surrendering but because she wanted to hide her eyes. “I didn’t know that it was you and my first instinct is always to attack.” she admitted.
“Nothing important.” she lied. In a way she wanted Melinoe to know how much she wanted to stab Belle in the heart but she decided that it wasn’t a good thing to say. “And you can stop trying to be cool with me. That’s not really necessary.” she continued. Even trying to keep her voice down Jane was probably sounding rude. Not that she actually cared about it. Deep inside, Jane wanted her mother to be proud of her but she knew what that would mean. Try to make people join Gaea or kill them. Kill. Blood. The words came to her mind and she smirked, still looking at the ground. She looked up again totally forgetting about her yellow eyes shinning in the dark. “What are we waiting for?” she asked letting show the excitement on her voice.
Maybe join Gaea wouldn’t be so bad. “What am I even thinking?” Jane asked to herself and frowned. She had never wished to kill people before but the thought of blood on her hands and screams of panic were really amusing her and she couldn’t help but to smirk again.
The ghost queen could see right through her daughter's petty lies. After an obvious eyeroll, Mel stared at her, waiting for her to elaborate. But after a few moments of staring at each other, Melinoe gave up-- although, she rolled her eyes one more time. She didn't need to hear about Jane's poor, sad life-- she, in fact didn't not care. So why ask?
Raising an eyebrow, Mel eyed Jane. "Jane, dear, I don't try to be cool, Iamcool." She paused. "But if you don't want my concern, don't have it." The goddess narrowed her eyes, taking a step closer to her. She could obviously see her yellow eyes, but she didn't regard them. She grabbed her daughter's arm and pulled her off the tree. "Nothing." A scoff. Mel continued to pull on her daughter's arm, but she eventually let go of it, sure that she would follow. She briefly wondered if she way regretting her decision. Well, it was too late for that now. Mel glanced over her her shoulder for a moment too look at her daughter. A sullen look fell on her face.
"Wipe that smirk off of your face." Mel said to the air in front of her. They continued into the darkness, the only source of light coming from the few stars in the sky, and the manors in the distance. Mel swallowed and cocked her head to the side. Jane probably couldn't see that, but it was a habit. "Did anyone follow you?"
