FALL WINTER 2014 LOOK 13
Love the skirt panels! So hard to find a good shirt where the cuffs lie in just the right place on the wrist and a skirt that lies perfectly on the knees.

FALL WINTER 2014 LOOK 13
Love the skirt panels! So hard to find a good shirt where the cuffs lie in just the right place on the wrist and a skirt that lies perfectly on the knees.
Here is my design on the final t shirt, its taken me a while to get it up as i have been focusing on lots of university work and other commitments. I came second in the competition but had the privilege of having it printed as I had over a certain number of orders.
The designs for my T shirt initially started with research into the history of T shirts themselves. I felt that this would make the T shirt more meaningful if I researched and renewed its past uses in a way. Renowned for being worn as undergarments by the US Navy service men, my designs reflect this through the use of my pattern that is inspired by the US Navy pattern, which I have made my own through manipulation using computer aided design. The shapes used for my T shirt designs are inspired by New York, London and Milan Fashion weeks 2014.

As a newly emerging Fashion student, I have recently discovered, through NYFW Day 1, the wonder of Costello Tagliapietra. Founded in New York itself, by Jeffrey Costello, and Robert Taliapietra. Ready- to-Wear.My two favourite pieces. Simple and timeless yet innovative and fresh in design.

To give you some information, I am currently a first year Fashion Studies student at a University in England. For more information on my current studies read on.
For this weeks post I decided to focus on the project that I am currently working on, involving research into Egypt in Fashion.
I discovered that at this very moment the only person that I could find really promoting the Egyptian Culture through their designs was Temperley London's bridal designs and Valentino's 2014 ready to wear spring/summer collection, which has a tinge of Egyptian inspiration. Both available to view through their websites. However, in June of this year Christian Louboutin displayed his work using an Egyptian twist for the window displays.I will post more if as and when I discover more information between completing my first year, first term fashion studies work.
