what’s not okay is using trauma to excuse your shit behavior. countless times ive heard the old “well ive been through so much…” “i had a rough childhood…” and expect forgiveness after they did something unacceptable and hurtful.

people are not responsible for your trauma. you are responsible with how you choose to behave, cope and heal. if you’re not at least trying to grow from the traumatic experiences, i don’t have any sympathy for you.
