btw this is the guy who always moves to your table when you’re studying in the library because he wants to get to know you better but ends up flirting his way through something borderline offensive. he’s studying something boring his dad picked out for him, like accounting or business, and he’s fascinated by you because you’re well-read and he thinks you’re the smartest person in the world. you assume he’s some bone-headed frat idiot who only cares about sleeping with you, but he keeps showing up. you let him read through the annotations you make in your books (both for academic and personal reasons), and when he tries nudging your foot with his from across the table, you have to try not to blush when he whispers about taking a study break in the back of his car.

eventually, though, you break, because you realize that the guy you’ve been calling by his last name for the past month or so is actually quite determined. he gets better at reading you and understanding how you like to be flirted with (he tones down the jokes and teasing but doesn’t completely stop, solely because he enjoys watching you get a little nervous).

and one day, a few months later, you realize that steve harrington has successfully wiggled his way into your life, and he now proudly wears the title of your boyfriend. he loves to cook for you even when you’ve both had long days of classes and homework, adores the way you look when you’re winding down for bed and your nose is in a book, and always asks you to read aloud to him whatever you’ve written most recently. he loves being the little spoon, driving you to campus, and still, no matter what, meeting you in the library so he can bother you while you try to work.
