i am banned from eating my herring inside. they make me eat it on the smoking area by the loading dock, under the theory that it already smells bad there. but it was raining today which was preventing my breakfast, so i was feeling sad and hungry and then i realized that there was a large cardboard box in the dumpster from a previous delivery. like a fridge sized box. so i fished it out of the dumpster, then tipped it on its side and had a nice little cardboard cave to watch the rain and eat my fish in. which was a great experience. very soothing. very zen. at least until the security guard from the day before stepped outside to smoke. then i tried hiding from him by crawling deeper in the box, which unfortunately did not work. instead he saw a sort of damp sniveling pale hairless creature eating fish in a box, and delivered the verbal killshot of "good morning, mr. smeagol." which is how my day was ruined before 8 am.

Nope! The Camp Fire caused the evacuation of 50k people, destroyed 18 thousand buildings, and caused 16 BILLION DOLLARS of damage.

This all happenes while the company was still on probation from blowing up a road in San Bruno in 2010, causing a fireball a thousand feet into the air, killing eight people and injuring another 58.

PG&E must be destroyed before they burn down all of California

Paradise. The town PG&E destroyed was Paradise. The fire was started because an almost 100 year old part failed in high winds. PG&E knew full well about the conditions yet refused to shut down the line lest they loose a small fraction of profit. I live about 20 minutes away from Paradise, work takes me there from time to time. The town has only been 25% rebuilt. FEMA did jack and shit. The state gave PG&E permission to drastically hike their rates in order to pay for Camp Fire settlements - which, by the way, no one has seen more than a single payment of. Meanwhile, across the canyon from where the Camp Fire started, PG&E still runs lines nailed to old dead trees.

The cartoonish evil of PG&E really can't be overstated.

It also can't be overstated that PG&E are like this because the state of California has outlawed any other electrical company from competing against them. They literally have no reason to improve anything because no one else is allowed to do the job better.

The Paradise fire was a failure of the state of California and you're horrendously naive if you think lobbying the state legislature will make conditions improve

Oh I do not remove any blame from PG&E but Cali also removed it's own forestry department. Meaning they no longer to clean up and controlled burns to stop wildfires. Why? Because then they can blame global warming for ALL issues dealing with their lack of desire to actually MANAGE the environment.
