28 July 1953. Two Boeing 450 B-47 Stratojet bombers of the 305th Air Mobility Wing set speed records; one flew from RCAF Goose Bay, Labrador, to RAF Fairford, England, in 4:14 hours and the other flew from Limestone AFB, Maine, to RAF Fairford in 4:45 hours.
