Hi hello official system post!

We make up the Dream Clouds system! Dreamy for short.

Up top, from right to left, we have our two og co-hosts! Jamie and Sylvie. They're both a bit quieter these days because of how rough things have been in our daily life lately.

In the middle, we have Vex, Null (me), and June. Vex is our clown ass bitch mania alter, I'm the one fronting most these days, and June is our mother/caretaker alter. She's got narcolepsy and falls dormant frequently and at random, but she can also be woken up pretty easily when needed.

Bottom row, we have Owen and The Littles (Crow and Bramble). Owen is our shy mechanic, always ready to DIY things and figure shit out when he needs to be an adult. The kids are always together since Crow is nonverbal (uses emojis to communicate), and Bramble frequently helps them make themselves heard and known.

Of you noticed the differences in our art styles, that's because we (mostly) all drew ourselves! Jamie drew himself and June, Sylvie drew themselves, and I drew myself and the rest of us.

I wonder if being bullied as a kid has any inoculating factors? like "I can do this now, because I could do this at 4 feet tall" type stuff. or does it just permanently make you into a quivery little prey animal? much to consider.

#dude i once had someone. multiple people actually. yell at me because i couldnt ask for help #they kept asking why it was so hard for me to just ask while also still yelling at a child #so anyway now that im in my 20s im slowly learning that humans are actually a communal species and we need to rely on each other #and it feels nice sometimes to ask for help and recieve it instead of forcing myself to suffer alone #just because i was never taught that an extended hand could be a kindness

Something that I get chills about is the fact that the oldest story told made by the oldest civilization opens with "In those days, in those distant days, in those ancient nights."

This confirms that there is a civilization older than the Sumerians that we have yet to find

Me? I think it's fucking awesome it shows just how much of this world we have yet to discover and that is just fascinating

@makaeru peer review cos this made me check when the Sumerians happened and I forget how recent history is for every other continent. 7000 - 8000 years ago just isn't that long when you're in Australia, and the amount of detailed history we have access to here is wonderful and should be recognised more internationally

This is part of my Ancient Civilizations class that I teach, which does a whole week about Australia and the Torres Strait Islands because I was sick of never seeing them represented in USAmerican history contexts. With the help of @micewithknives and @acearchaeologist I've learned so many incredible things about Australia's past and it's been incredibly rewarding to share them with students.

My favorite fact about Aboriginal oral history is the fact that we pretty recently discovered that the Aboriginal myth of the 7 Sisters, an origin story for the Pleiades star cluster, accurately reflects a point TEN THOUSAND YEARS AGO when two stars in the constellation got close enough together to no longer be distinguishable by the naked eye.

The story? 6 sisters running from something that took their 7th sister.
