why does the andor season 2 trailer feel like it's for an action-comedy 😭

#desperately hoping the trailer just isn't doing the actual season justice #maybe it's just the music idk but that's not what i was expecting at all

i've got andor brainrot again and it annoys me so much how i've seen people relate the line "oppression is the mask of fear" in Nemik's manifesto to vader. I know I've talked about this before, but I'm already a bit annoyed by how everything in star wars has a tendency (both by fans and by writers/canon) to have to be related back to the skywalkers, but to me, that line from Nemik is very obviously about the power the oppressed, as a group, hold. it's not about one individual who has been retroactively made the main character of an entire franchise, it's about normal everyday-folk standing together and fighting for their freedom and for each other.

#obviously the manifesto goes a lot deeper than that #but nemik talks about being / feeling 'alone' and 'dwarfed by the scale of the enemy'#and then he immediately goes on to talk about 'battalions that have no idea they've already enlisted in the cause'#and yes ultimately anakin does end up making one choice that is instrumental to that cause #but to relate a line to be about him simply because it mentions a 'mask of fear' when that line and the entire speech ultimately (to me)#feels like a rally to stand together #and when it comes from a character who not only died for the cause but whose death was almost completely unknown to the rest of the future #rebellion (which is a large theme in andor (and rogue one) i'd argue)#just feels so.... ARHGH #not everything has to be about anakin/the skywalkers!#sometimes things are about how we are stronger than we think. especially when we stand together and hold onto hope and love for each other #i do think there's a point to be made about anakin being kept under sheev's boot with oppression moreso than with real genuine power #(especially with how anakin ultimately kills sheev by just lobbing him down a chasm)#but it's the tendency to relate it ONLY to that and not to how the empire worked at large that annoys me #sorry i disappear for months then i come back with an andor rage post about a youtube comment i saw years ago that got a lot of likes #andor (to ME) is explicitly about the people who were forgotten but whose actions and deaths and torture was instrumental in creating a #more hopeful future

the telescope adventures continue

#this was jupiter a little over an hour ago!#i think u can just barely see the great red spot right underneath the center of the lower ring/belt but I'm not 100% sure #but I think I identified the moons correctly #I wasn't gonna take any pics tonight but then I thought the positions of the moons was funny and I wanted to show my mom lol #I wanna get a better scope already but unfortunately I simply don't have the money for it right now shgjsdgh #and I still get awestruck every time I find jupiter and put my eye up to the eyepiece and see all the moons so rly there's no need to rush #just seeing everything with your own eyes is insane enough already #I was out there for a while tonight and it was kinda funny to notice some of the moons had actually moved #like at first ganymede and io were perfectly mirroring callisto and europa in their positions #like. it looked like i was just seeing double of one pair of the moons #but then as u see in the pic above they moved so ganymede and io were a bit closer to each other than io and europa were #ANYWAYYY

my saturn pics arguably haven't improved that much, but I'm somewhat happy with the jupiter one :)

#i mean... at least u can see the gap between saturn's rings #but I haven't been able to get any surface details to show #the jupiter one is honestly not too far from what I see through the telescope myself!#except I could see 1 more moon that I didn't get in this pic #when I look at saturn I can see some like... idk if it's banding on saturn's surface or if it's a shadow from the rings #but I can see a dark stripe either below or above the rings going across saturn and I can vaguely make out titan #I'm really looking forward to when saturn's tilt changes so I can get a better view of the rings #I'd love to get to see the cassini division!

here's a star cluster. left is taken with my phone just pointed at the sky and the iso turned up a bit, right is with my phone quite clumsily pointed at my telescope. I've circled roughly the part I think is what we're seeing in the right pic. when i looked through the telescope myself I could see twice the amount of stars my phone was able to pick up on the pic on the right!

very unexpected, but i found the orion nebula (left is my pic, right is from google)

#it looked a bit better than it does in my pic but not by that much tbh #i could kinda see some very faint light going upwards (which was downwards in my scope bc it's mirrored but i flipped the pic to compare-#-better with the one on the right)#but like the difference from the picture i got and what i was seeing was not as drastic as it is when i try to take pictures of jupiter or #saturn #i actually managed to see jupiter's bands/stripes really clearly!! and i could sort of see some stripes on saturn too #but they were a lot easier to make out on jupiter #i also saw jupiter swallow io LMAO there was a dot very close to jupiter that progressively got closer and closer and then #it was gone #i didn't notice its shadow on jupiter but maybe i was just too entranced by the stripes

#the star cluster pic was taken with a different scope than the saturn/jupiter/moon ones #and just looking randomly through it at the sky has rly opened my eyes up to just How many stars are in the sky #I live in a fairly light polluted area so a lot of them I can't see with the naked eye but when i look through the telescope they're #everywhere! I can't even imagine how many would show up through the telescope in a non light polluted area

#these pics are so shitty. i took them literally by holding my phone up to the tiny eyepiece #but i'm getting an adapter thing to attach my phone to the eyepiece so hopefully i can get some better pics #anyway. saturn - jupiter (+2 moons) and our moon!#i do have another pic of saturn where u can see one of its moons too (titan) but saturn looks even shittier there so GJSJKGSD #saturn is tilted in a way right now so it's rings are almost... what's the word i'm looking for...#like if u were to hold a sheet of paper up in front of u and look at the thin side of it #by 2025 they should be almost invisible from earth's perspective #and rn through my telescope they just look like a line going through saturn #which is a bit unfortunate! but it's cool that i can see saturn's tilt #this is so rp unrelated but this seems like the blog where it'd be the most relevant GSJDKGSDJG #and i just wanted to gush abt my Space Explorations for a sec #idk which of jupiter's moons those two are #when i was looking through the telescope i could see... 1 or 2 more i can't remember. at least one more but it was further to the left and #didn't show up on the pic

maul being alive post phantom menace is so funny, because he really could've just walked up to the jedi temple with a picture of famous politician sheev palpatine and been like "this guy is the sith mastermind you're looking for"

#would they have believed him? maybe not. would he have been killed? probably. but it could've happened. he could've done that

#*sprinkles in a bit of how-to-effectively-fight-force-sensitives and then later helps out the clones who want to defect*#i love my handful of redeemed AUs that live inside my head bc despite ayru being....... redeemed and the jedi order being a big part of tha #he would still refuse to outright be a jedi in any of those AUs #he will never (this goes for my main verse too) be what sheev intended for him to be but he also won't be what the jedi would want him to b #which is why i think the jedi/the republic would want to put him in charge of training clones as opposed to padawans. they don't want to #waste him as a resource (and they also want him where they can keep an eye on him) but despite not being Evil he's too rebellious #he still sees too much merit in the sith philosophy and regardless of how much merit he simultaneously sees in the jedi code and philosophy #that makes him too dangerous to have him wandering around the jedi temples for an extended period of time #but. given that the galaxy is at war he's just too valuable of an asset to not use #the jedi don't want him going around telling padawans that murder is alright but they don't care if he says it to the clones
