Typically, the golden goddess would have a lot to say to this face. Perhaps Kyoko didn’t know where to begin. The two had so much between them. How could she blame the red head for starting off like this. “Thank you Sakura-san. I wore this scarf just because I thought you may like it.”

“Well, you made a good choice,” the rambunctious redhead said.  “I love it!”

It was a simple way to start the conversation, ease into the awkwardness of their past by opening with something lighthearted.  If Kyouko was lucky, she might be able to skirt it all together.  However, there was so much she wanted to say.  Maybe the loudmouth could bite her tongue until it was appropriate.

“Eh... Tomoe-san... Thank you.  For uh, everything.”  Kyouko followed up by reaching into her pocket and pulling out a wrapped candy, and popping it into her mouth.

Kyubey ate it happily. He loved eating even if he didn’t have to as humans did. When he finished chewing he replied. “Of course, we just didn’t want to feel unwelcome”

“Pshhh, when are you ever unwelcome?” Kyouko asked the incubator with a smile, before popping more food in her mouth.  “You’re just doing your job, and I’m just doing mine.  Any news?”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” the flushed redhead said as she allowed herself to be ushered towards a bed. “I am perfectly fine.”

“Yeah, if you’re so fine why you nearly fainted in battle? Don’t think I’m stupid!”  Taking a thermometer, Sayaka checked Kyoko’s temperature. “You’re 40°. You need to rest if you don’t want this to get worse”.

Covering the redhaired with mattresses, the knight went to her closet where she took out a box full of medicines. “There, drink it completely and don’t dare to get on your feet until your fever is gone. I’ll be watching you.” She threatened as she offered Kyoko a glass of water and a pill of acetaminophen. If that girl attempted to get out of bed, then Sayaka would push her again to it.

“40° is hardly anything!” Kyouko protested, despite the fact that it was, in fact, a rather severe fever.  “I’ve had worse.”

With a sigh, Kyouko reluctantly took the pill and glass of water, and washed the former down with the latter before attempting to relax.  It was mere seconds before she piped up again.

“Pleeeease, Sayaka, I’m not tired, and I feel fine.”  She punctuated the sentence with a cough that completely tore the whole act she had going on down.

“I take that back.  I’m absolutely miserable.”

Homura caught the apple and took a bite into it, giving the redhead a small smile as the other asked her where she had been. Her smile vanished at that, holding the partially eaten apple in her hand as she glanced up.

“Well, I’ve been travelling around a lot lately, seeing new places, meeting new people.”

“Hmm, sounds like you, Akemi,” Kyouko said, tilting her head at the other girl and grinning.  She had definitely caught the fleeting smile, and decded to work with that.  Homura was obviously not happy.

“Is that so, though?  You must have made it far from Mitakihara, I’d say out of Japan, even.”  Small talk was not the redhead’s strong suit.  “Anything, uh, interesting then?”

"Oh, nah, of course not.”  Kyouko propped her legs up on the table in front of her before continuing.  “You should know by now I don't mind you visiting.”

She pulled a pastry out of the box sitting next to her, tore off a bite sized piece, and held it out to the Incubator.
