I hope all the out gay couples in high school know how much they mean to the closeted gay kids at their school

When I was a teacher and still closeted, one of my students was an out gay boy and it really changed my life seeing him being authentic and happy at such a young age (he was 13). I wouldn’t say it directly led to me coming out a couple years later, but it made a big impact.

So— kids who are out, I hope you know how much you mean to your closeted teachers too.

What happened is that I was front row at B stage with my rainbow pride flag, and he saw it before this moment and already smiled at me. But this time when he smiled at me, my only way to thank him (i couldn’t process to do anything else) was to blow him a kiss and he blew it back 💓 we had tons of eye contacts and smiles but THIS tops everything else 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈
