What I like the most about us would probably our random-ness. You know, share everything that comes in mind at the moment, even our deepest darkest secret that only ourselves know.

I love how you tell me all stories without the “can we talk?” sentence at the beginning. I love to see your facial expression when telling me something that you really like; when you’re so upset about everything and it ruined your whole mood into pieces; or when you talked drama, family drama. You’re the one that put the trust in me, listening to all your blabbering mouth.

Comfort is when I am with you, I mean laughing and singing along until it hurts. The best thing that could happen in my life’s having you as my sharing partner, and I would really bothered if someday I don’t have you again.

In the interim, Johnston’s teammates came over to offer encouragement… Becky Sauerbrunn provided the most comfort of all. She simply smiled and told Johnston it was fine. Perhaps it was the solidarity that comes from a fellow center back, the knowledge that the very nature of the position means that usually only the mistakes are remembered. Or perhaps it was Sauerbrunn’s calming demeanor. Either way, it did the trick.

“Becky’s my backbone,” Johnston said. “She keeps me sane. She’s a warrior. I just always want to play well for her and the back line.
