Grace, explaining how humans evolved: yeah so basically we evolved to be persistance predators where we would just slowly walk towards our prey and track it until it got so tired it couldn't fight back or run away and then we killed it :)

Rocky, who is an Eridian, an AMBUSH predator, who can't see light and so cannot track things the way humans can, and that doesn't have a lot of stamina and literally won't be able to wake up once they fall asleep: grace what the fuck statement--

Imagine Grace defined his name as the elegance definition of grace and Rocky spends years thinking how fucking ironic this clumsy leaky space blobs name is.

Until Grace slips out a sentence along the lines of "could you give me a little grace here" and Rocky immediately points out he used a word wrong so Grace has to explain that yeah, grace means elegance but it can also mean mercy sometimes too.

And Rocky has to suddenly reconcile that the clumsy leaky blob that saved his life twice, that almost certainly doomed himself to come back for him, name is Mercy.

What if human astronauts visit Erid one day and are doing diplomatic things and whatnot and they learn Ryland Grace is sstill alive and is in a terrarium. One of the astronauts jokingly says “you’re not experimenting on him are you” and the Eridians freeze cause yeah, they totally are. They experiment on him all the time. They’re experimenting on him right now in fact. They read about deep sea diving and are now testing the effects of replacing certain gases in Graces atmosphere. Right now they’re testing helium.

They send someone to stop the experiment but Grace refuses cause they’re so far in already and well that would just ruin the data.

The new humans think this is hilarious and insist on joining the experiment as Grace excitedly yaps about all the cool stuff he’s learned about aliens but he’s still got that high pitched helium voice.

Hii I’m not sure if you’ve done this one before but could you write headcanons about how the boys (+ side characters) will react when you’re (mc) is sick in the devildom (or human world, whatever you prefer) (they caught the flu for example) how would they take care of the mc?

The Demon Brothers

Lucifer:

🩹 He's of course going to treat you like you're five minutes away from death, even if it is just a simple flu. It's both oddly sweet but also a bit overbearing if you even hint to go outside for a walk.

🩹 Lucifer will make one of his brothers go to your classes to pick up any homework and books you need to catch up on to stay ahead in class. The reason he won't do it himself is so he can be at your beck and call 24/7. He's so close at all times that you don't even need to call him with the pact.

🩹 It's pretty funny seeing how he acts like it's the end of the world when you're sick, but would send his brothers across the Devildom to fetch something you need, even if you could easily do it yourself with magic.

🩹 Speaking of which, if the illness is something like magic exhaustion and you were experiencing flu-like symptoms, prepare for endless lectures about how you need to take better care of your health and let others help you. (He needs to take his own advice)

Mammon:

🩹 Freaks out as much as Lucifer, probably even more. He's always freaking out about you and it only gets worse once you're bedridden with a sickness. He doesn't care if he ends up sick as well, it just gives him an excuse to stay glued to your side.

🩹 Probably thinks instant ramen is the cure to your sickness. Mammon would try making a stew or other broth of some sort, but he becomes hesitant if Beel doesn't even want to go near his cooking. Yeah, Mammon is often very confident and a bit arrogant when it comes to his cooking, but something just stops him and forces him to think before giving you something.

🩹 Mammon would end up skipping classes to stay beside you, trying to convince his brothers that no one else can take care of you more than he can. This obviously incurs Lucifer's wrath who has to physically drag him out of your bedroom multiple times.

Leviathan:

🩹 Levi would be a bit too glad to have you home with him. He's really good at the "resting" part of the recovery process, so you often just end up in his room and binge watching anime with him.

🩹 He does try to take care of you too, but he is seriously awkward, which isn't a huge surprise. He might forget to check up on how much water you're drinking or if you're getting enough sleep. He tries his hardest, though.

🩹 Levi might get you to try some weird potion he swears has healing properties since he saw it used that way in a show he watched. But he should've known something was up when even Mammon says that could easily be a scam.

Satan:

🩹 Satan has to be one if not the most efficient when it comes to caring for you when you're ill. He doesn't hover around you as much if it's just a simple flu, as it could possibly stress you out or annoy you even further. He does bring tea and warm broth that can heal you up quick, knowing exactly what clears the sinuses.

🩹 Without asking, (but with Lucifer's yelling) he's already grabbing the materials you need to stay caught up on your classes at RAD. If you have a bad headache or not even feeling it, he's willing to read the books for you. He would scold you playfully if you asked him to do your homework for you, though. Something about maintaining integrity.

🩹 Cusses out anything and everything that seems to annoy you. Especially if it's his brothers. If you wake up feeling nauseous or overly exhausted, he replaces your pillows and elevates them sometimes depending on what feels better to you.

Asmodeus:

🩹 Free spa treatments and hour long baths for an entire week. Asmo does what he finds the most relaxing and relieving and just knows it'll work on you as well.

🩹 Babies you much more than he realizes. He urges you to fall asleep at a decent time and to not stay outside in the cold for too long, especially if it's winter. He'd make you use an ice pack or heating pad and always have warm food on hand when you need it.

🩹 Probably thinks his kisses are the key to healing you. Honestly, Asmo could probably do that, but it'd be more of you feeling like you're on a certain high after he kisses you.

Beelzebub:

🩹 Beel's not super clueless, he's just more immune to illnesses with everything that he eats, plus working it off vigorously, which would explain why he's a little confused why you got sick so easily. Beel's letting you eat from his stash pile that he hides in his room so you don't have to get up to eat if he's not around.

🩹 He'd get very sad if it was a contagious sickness you had, which means he has to be careful with how he interacts with you and how often. His teammates on the Fangol team wouldn't be happy if he got sick.

🩹 Very tentative and gentle, a lot more than he usually is. Beel does his research on foods that are safe for humans and beneficial for recovery. As much as he can't help but want to spoil you with treats, he can't have you getting worse.

Belphegor:

🩹 Tells you to sleep it off. And it would work sometimes if it was a regular cold. But if it's a pounding headache and other serious symptoms, you will have trouble sleeping and it pisses him off.

🩹 Belphegor would fight to stay awake as long as you, wanting to be in your company even if you were getting upset and annoyed with your illness. He'll even offer to hold back your clothes or hair when puking but be careful if he ends up falling asleep and letting go of your hair or clothing.

🩹 Steals things like food from Beel or special tea from Satan or Asmo. When you're sick, he doesn't give a crap about any of his brothers. You'd raise an eyebrow when he explains his means for acquiring these products but take them anyways.

The Side Characters

Diavolo:

🩹 He knows you need things like warm drinks and food, but he'd have to ask for help from Barbatos to figure out what exactly you need. If it were something like exhausting your magic though, he'd understand that better and urge you not to do something risky or straining like that again. Not for a long time.

🩹 Diavolo would probably say he's taking care of you as an excuse to Barbatos so he doesn't need to do his duties as the Demon Prince. His butler only sighs reluctantly and allows him to do so for a while. (Scolds him after a week)

🩹 Of course, Diavolo could use his own magic to cure you along with most of the characters, but there could also be the risk of causing greater harm if the sickness is something that HAS to be healed naturally.

Barbatos:

🩹 Gives you everything you need and ready to do whatever you want to make you feel better. Barbatos can anticipate what you need before you even ask for it, which is helpful but slightly unsettling at times.

🩹 You get a small taste of how he treats Diavolo when the prince is unwell. He scolds you with more gentleness than he does with Lord Diavolo, but is noticeably more strict with you since humans are much more fragile than demons when sick.

🩹 Even Diavolo tries to get Barbatos to ease off a little bit on you or at least ease off on him so he'll have more time to care for you. But Barbatos obviously insists that he continues at the pace he's comfortable at, not trusting anyone else with the job he has.

Simeon:

🩹 Simeon gives you the proper space you need to recover, not trying to overwhelm you. He also manages the amount of homework you do for your classes so you don't overwork yourself. He doesn't want your recovery time to be staggered or delayed.

🩹 Checks in with a few simple messages every few hours when he's not in Purgatory Hall. Totally not because he can't type out long messages without making several typos.

🩹 Simeon tries to keep in check how many times he scolds you if you get especially stubborn during recovery. He's got the patience of a saint for you, but he just wants to see you get better too.

Luke:

🩹 Luke probably blames the demon brothers for getting you sick, even if it's not something they actually did, he blames them for even being near your vicinity. He's managing to reprimand you and them in the same sentence, but instantly regrets yelling at you.

🩹 Comes over to the house so often that Simeon has to drag him back to Purgatory Hall so he doesn't bother you too much. But he has to watch over you and make sure you're eating real food and not some random Devildom dish that'll make you worse somehow.

🩹 Cooks and bakes more often, which means the brothers have to hold Beel back from trying to take the food straight out of his hands. Luke only plans to drop the food off and immediately flee, trying to avoid the demon's teasing and remarks.

Solomon:

🩹 Would have good experience in whatever sickness you had, especially since there's definitely been times where he's been infected with a human illness like the flu and something caused by a magic spell gone wrong.

🩹 A lot of the food and drinks are offered (begged) to Solomon from the others to give to you. In your weaker state, Solomon's food is the last thing you need to ingest.

🩹 He would definitely find the right spell to ease the pain and get rid of the more annoying symptoms. But Solomon also admits that he likes when you're sick sometimes, which means he gets to watch over and take care of you. He just tells the others that it's something only humans know how to cure.

Mephistopheles:

🩹 Acts a little tsundere-ish when taking care of you. He says he finds it a big hassle to care for weak human's needs when they can easily get their own help with magic. But would brag to others that you confided in him to make you feel better.

🩹 Would spoil you with the expensive medicines and treatments, things that he'd probably only give to Lord Diavolo as another person.

🩹 Mephisto would be a bit of a clean freak in your living space. It'd be a drag if you ended up getting worse or not recovering because of the air being too dry or humid. He'd especially hate it if the clutter from food containers and wrappers attracted ants.

Thirteen:

🩹 More affectionate with you while you're sick. She's more likely to compliment and cuddle you, even if she already while you were well. Sulks a little if you tell her that she can't cuddle you in case she ends up sick as well.

🩹 Thirteen would make those jokes like "Aw, does this mean I'm gonna get to reap your soul soon?" It scares the hell out of you, but she laughs it off and squeezes your cheek, telling you to relax.

🩹 To others, she'd appear to be more irritable, even a bit more hostile. Especially to Solomon. But she'd have no other choice but to consult him if you got sick with something only humans get, so she doesn't just end up feeding you candy 24/7.

Raphael:

🩹 He's quite strict with how you recover. He'd always be at your side too, chastising you (as gently as possible for him) if you end up doing something that gets you hurt.

🩹 Probably thinks Solomon's cooking might do the trick since it worked on himself. you'd have to interrogate Raphael a little about where he got the soup or tea from. Luckily he's blunt enough to straight up say Solomon, and then you'd have the chance to say you prefer his own cooking over the sorcerer's.

🩹 He tries to be more watchful for symptoms you're displaying since you might even be too sick to tell him exactly what you're feeling. You'd have to tell him if you're feeling too nauseous or if a headache's coming on before the irritating pain kicks in.
