Hey! Saw your post about why Kris didn't tell Susie what happened to Rudy, and I think I have an answer!
The thing is, they weren't actually trying to stop her from seeing the Holidays! In fact, they were not only leading the way, but they were DOING SO WITHOUT OUR INPUT!
So why did they stop? Because Susie tried to investigate Asgore's shop. And so, because that would lead to her discovering the code and compromising the plan/promise they'd been trying to fulfill before they even met her, Kris had to make the difficult decision to create the Dark World, hoping it would prevent her from ruining that plan/promise!
Kris doesn't do the wrong thing unless they feel it's for a really good reason, which has been a feature of literally every single important character in UTDR!
oh Kris. Kris sweetie.
Thank you so much for answering my ask @susielesbianism
Yeah, that poor kid is going through hell rn. They make a plan in hopes of setting everything right and fixing everything that happened since Dess vanished, and then, before you know it, they develop a crush on par with Noelle's crush for the girl who is opposing that plan but also can provide them a way out.
But their bond with her was shattered before it was even forged, because they had already been working for her archenemies long beforehand.
it's pretty gut-wrenching how slowly and reluctantly Kris is walking in the Weird Route, until Susie asks to see the festival together with them, at which point they walk at their normal speed
THANK YOU!!!!!
It's a damn shame how people end up steering into exorsexism lane when talking about them and their relationship with Noelle and Susie.
saturniines spitting straight gay facts
This is literally one of the greatest ratios I've ever seen in my life
That girl has been showing that poor kid nothing but constant love and support this entire chapter, and yet all that gets cancelled out because... she loves Noelle???
Also, the idea that she no longer sees Kris as an equal because she's in a romantic relationship with Noelle and a nonromantic one with Kris ABSOLUTELY REEKS of amatonormativity.
Ever since season 1...
hi. remember when chapter 2 came out and people were criticizing susie's turnaround from angry scary bully to instantly being best friends with kris
and you know how people are now criticizing susie supposedly displaying 0 signs of last night's events affecting her. and her finally pursuing her affections for noelle after ignoring them for so long. and thinking about noelle for most of the chapter.
fandom misogyny is one hell of a drug huh
It's comical how one of the most radical pieces of media can spawn some of the most reactionary BS in its fandom.
You got lesbophobia and misogyny directed at Suselle, and its fans (i.e. Noelle chair memes and demonizing Susie for pursuing a romance with her)
People who aren't fans of Krusie or Kriselle dabbling in nbphobia (i.e., "you can't ship Susie/Noelle with Kris because it's lesbian erasure and/or heteronormative")
Amatonormativity and aphobia in Kris shipping fandoms, with people insisting that their relationship with Susie/Noelle/etc be romantic as if platonic relationships are inherently inferior.
And hell, there was that misogynistic and nbphobic nonsense a decade ago in Undertale. Just look at how ppl were treating Toriel, Chara, Frisk, and Alphys, and it'll make your skin crawl.
And so much more than that, I can't even list...
*sigh* the more things change, the more they stay the same...
I've been seeing a good deal of discussion about Kris not telling Susie why Noelle left or what happened with her dad, and it's understandable why people frown on them for it. However, if you pay attention to how things play out, you'll realize it wasn't exactly done out of ill intent.
Aside from the fact that it would be SUPER OUT OF CHARACTER for them to not care about Rudy's health (seeing how they were literally praying for his welfare last Chapter), they weren't actually trying to stop her from seeing the Holidays! In fact, they were not only leading the way, but they were DOING SO WITHOUT OUR INPUT!
So why did they stop? Because Susie tried to investigate Asgore's shop. And so, because that would most likely lead to her discovering the code and compromising the plan/promise they'd been trying to fulfill before they even met her, Kris had to make the difficult decision to make the Dark World in hopes it would prevent her from ruining said plan/promise!
Remember, people! Kris doesn't do the wrong thing unless they feel it's for a really good reason, which has been a feature of literally every single important character in UTDR (i.e. Toriel using fire magic against Frisk to prevent them from leaving the ruins, Chara pressuring Asriel to aid their infamous buttercup, etc)!
Y'all don't actually want to see Toby Fox's story.
Y'all only want to see YOUR story.
For the sake of my emotional well-being, I'm not going on Twitter, TikTok, and Reddit until Chapter 6 makes every toxic shipper and anti on those hellsites spontaneously combust.
Deltarune fans in 2026 be moving like Undertale fans in 2016.
The really funny thing about all the bad takes and toxic discourse currently surrounding Kris, Susie, and their character flaws is that much of it is the fault of toxic shippers.
You can't have a meaningful discussion about their shortcomings and imperfections because some self-righteous, media-illiterate pricks want to use them as an excuse to bash their NOTP.
You cannot convince me that Kris is not being manipulated, gaslit, coerced, or, dare I say, abused in some way by the Knight and/or Carol to keep them in line and prevent them from backing out of the plan.
Starting to notice some patterns...
