“You’ve been criticizing yourself for years and it hasn’t worked. Try accepting yourself and see what happens.”
— Louise Hay
“I am weird, you are weird. Everyone in this world is weird. One day two people come together in mutual weirdness and fall in love.”
— Dr. Seuss
“Breathe. You’re going to be okay. Breathe and remember that you’ve been in this place before. You’ve been this uncomfortable and anxious and scared, and you’ve survived. Breathe and know that you can survive this too. These feelings can’t break you. They’re painful and debilitating, but you can sit with them and eventually, they will pass. Maybe not immediately, but sometime soon, they are going to fade and when they do, you’ll look back at this moment and laugh for having doubted your resilience. I know it feels unbearable right now, but keep breathing, again and again. This will pass. I promise it will pass.”
— Daniell Koepke (via perfectquote)
“Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain, and you feel the rain - but you are not the rain.”
— Matt Haig
You break patterns by responding differently.

Me, sitting down with my coffee in front of the computer and the multitude of things I need to get done:
Children are often dismissed as “having it easy” when the traumas of adults are often caused during childhood
The Good Place really said “People improve when they get external love and support. How can we hold it against them, when they don’t?” and “We choose to be good because of our bonds with other people” and “What matters isn’t if people are good or bad. What matters is if they’re trying to be better today than they were yesterday” and “If soulmates do exist, they aren’t found, they’re made” and “That knowledge [that life ends] is what gives life meaning” and “The answer is friends” and “That’s what the Good Place really is — it’s not even a place, really. It’s just having enough time with the people you love” and I think that’s very sexy of them
