Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog / IDW Sonic

Characters: Sonic the Hedgehog & Amy Rose (please don't tag ship, thank you!)

Written as part of the Sonic the Hedgehog 2024 Big Bang (@sthbigbang).

After the events of the Metal Virus, it should’ve gotten better. And it does, briefly — with a party celebrating its extinction, they have their world back, their livelihood back, and more importantly, Sonic. But as Amy’s come to learn, it’s never as easy as it seems with him. As the dust settles at Restoration HQ, the cracks begin to show. When she starts to pick up on the lasting effects of constantly burning off the virus, Amy offers to help care for Sonic’s quills and nurse them back to health. After all he’s done for them, it’s the least she can do. The role reversal is a change of pace, but one she takes to heart. And as they gather in her kitchen, as she tends to his sick quills, little does he know, it’s the most she’s ever felt in his shoes.

I participated in the @sthbigbang this year! I was partnered with @lethalbreadkills (x) @meoucha (x) and @rosesartcorner (x) for @endae 's beautiful and heartfelt story, Orange Blossoms.

Everyone worked so hard on their pieces and they all turned out amazing! I'm so glad I got to work with them on this :D

i got to make a piece for the fic “orange blossoms” written by @endae. it’s a really wonderful fic about the aftermath of the metal virus, that covers the physical grief of trauma that both sonic and amy have experienced. here’s another link to read yourself!
