I LOVE ART!!! At this point I am collecting art mediums LMAO but the most common ones you'll see here are digital art and the occasional sculpture :3
This blog will mostly be for reblogging cool art I see or posting my own fanart! Ok I have been locked IN for the past 3 weeks because that warrior cat fanclan challenge finally caught up to me and I have been possessed😭😭😭 SO SHOUT OUT TO @laserwalnut AND @radianceclan FOR BRINGING BACK MY WHIMSY....... in particular laser's lil fanclan guys were what actually introduced me to the idea in the first place SO YOU SHOULD GO LOOK AT THEM HERE!!!
But without further ado, I THROW MY SILLY GUYS INTO THE RING!!!
WAAAHHHHH ok so for context, all the characters I decided to choose were ones that I latched onto as a small child, all from a bunch of my fav games!!! Like all of them but 3 (one not pictured here we'll get to that one later lol) had been molded into my vast collection of imaginary friends, so some of their lore dates back as early as like. 2013😭 SO WELCOME TO THE INSANITY OF ROOTCLAN!!! I'm gonna out their refs and info below the cut so it isn't 1 million miles long BUT DOWN HERE I WILL YAP ABOUT ALL OF THEM!!! The loners and rogues will be introduced a lil later, I figured they'd get their own separate post teehee

OK YAPPING TIME!!! please bear with me I am insane
So I should probably preface this by stating that a good chunk of these are characters with no confirmed personalities, or like. very loose characterizations. And some of them are so incredibly obscure that I do not have much hope in someone guessing it right😭 BUT I GOTTA DO IT FOR THE BIT BECAUSE ITS FUNNY (if you came here from toyhouse shhhh shhh don't spoil them all LMAO) So I tried to get a good balance of including parts of the og character's lore/personalities (when applicable) but also some of the insane lore I made in like elementary school for their imaginary counterparts. SO THIS WILL BE WILD TO EXPLAIN LMAOOOO HERE WE GO!!!
WAIT YES I should also clarify that I took a very unconventional route for my fanclan because none of these guys would fw traditional clanlife😭😭😭 I mean the first thing you see upon walking in is 2 leaders that may or may not be queerplatonic and are also both guys😭😭😭 and their goofy medicine cat daughter LIKE😭 THEY DO NOT FOLLOW THE BASE WARRIOR CODE LMAOOOO
WITH THAT BEING SAAIIIID, FIRST UP!!! TANGLE!!!
He is my darling beloved boy!!! He was the former warrior turned medicine cat of Fernclan (its a long story I have SO many of their refs in progress rn😭), before striking out to find a home for himself. He had grown exhausted of the state of his clan, and could no longer stick by his leader's side. He has since joined forces with Obsidiangaze, and has slowly gathered up a clan of his own.
He is the brains of the pair, trying to plan out every possible minute detail. He tries to be logical above everything else, but does have a bit of a soft spot for his apprentice Luckypaw. He also tends to butt heads with Weaseltooth, though he tries to humor her.
He still kinda feels like he just stumbled into the leader role, but he likes to think he's starting to grow into it. He's still got a lot of old demons to face, but things seem to be looking up.
Ah yes, and the cone! That's the main hint here on what he's based on because I was FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE debating how to translate a monster design into a wee little cat😭 He always had rather bad anxiety growing up, the constant instability of Fernclan not helping. On his travels out alone, he happened to find a veterinary cone out in the dump, and went "hey! I like this thing, it makes me feel safe :]" and has refused to take it off since. He feels like it will protect him from The Horrors.
And next up is the other leader, Obsidiangaze!!!
His past is pretty unknown, wandering as a loner pretty much as long as he can remember. He's never really had any kind of group or family to belong to, so when he stumbled across Tangle he's been stuck to his side ever since.
He's the heart of the clan, and is trying VERY hard to be A Normal Cat. He was never really socialized on cat behavior so most things had to be learned through studying others. Tangle was rather unnerved at the start when he learned that Obsidian's way of showing trust was staring into his soul with big unblinking eyes. He's a bit odd, but the others love him! Just uh, don't try to lick him. He doesn't like being wet.
He is objectively the easiest character here to guess for reaaaasons, but I will still give a hint and say he's from a certain sandbox game.....
NEXT UP!!! This is not in chronological order but I want to introduce her next LUCKYPAW!!!
She's the 5th member to join, after Tangle found her just?? in the middle of the woods?? alone??? They would soon find out that her mother had died while she was still a kitten, and she'd just been wandering around, barely apprentice age, until someone found her. She took to Tangle IMMEDIATELY and decided she wanted to learn to heal too, so she could help save others.
SHE IS MY BABBYYYYY she's very sweet to all the other cats and loves to play and collect coins SHE IS MY LITTLE GUY..... Her full name later on is Luckywish! Both parts are related to her characterization here AND the small bits I could parse from her source material!! Lucky of course because SHE IS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE😭😭😭 but also because she likes to collect pennies in particular, and you know what they say about finding a penny heads up! Wish of course is also a reference to coins.
I will be real, her source material is😭 VERY OBSCURE😭😭😭 like, a random free game I had on my ipod in 2015 type obscure. But I will still give hints and say the bow is relevant to her source material, she is in fact full on pink there, and she does not take kindly to zombies! (listen I know there's no chance of anyone figuring it out BUT LET ME HAVE MY FUN😭😭😭)
OK😭😭😭 for this one I need to preface that the cat has absolutely NOTHING in common with his source material except for design😭😭😭 LISTEN MAN IT'S A REALLY LONG STORY. DW ABOUT IT. MORNINGBLOOM!!!
So first off, apparently Bloomheart is a namr already used in the books??? tf you mean that was Mapleshade's mentor HUH??? WHO???? Anyways this guy is the deputy of Rootclan!! He's a former kittypet that escaped into the woods to get a fresh start, taking a new name as he joined the group. He keeps the kittypet part a secret for a bit though.
Originally he was just another hunter, but Tangle soon realized "hmmm we're kinda getting old, maybe we should plan ahead?" and after some debate with Obsidian, Morningbloom was chosen to succeed them. He is very determined to be a good deputy, but more importantly just a warrior in general.
He's very friendly with the others, albeit he's sometimes a bit awkward. When your company is 2 couples, adoptive siblings, and the other resident healer, it can get a bit awkward trying to fit in with any specific group😭 sorry buddy you are perpetually doomed to third wheel everywhere you go💔💔 For that reason he tends to spend a bit more time out in the woods alone, or talking to some of the loners that like to pop in to visit. He says he's just watching the perimeter but it's uh, kinda obvious😭 Although it's a good trait to have, when a pair of eyes starts watching the clan from the woods nearby...

Sorry Weasel's ref is already a lil outdated💔 BUT WE HAVE THE SPOOKY SIBLINGS!!! Weasel was third to join the clan (back before they had any plans of calling it one), and Chatters appeared not long after. Weaseltooth was a kittypet that ran away from home because she wanted a life of excitement in the woods. She was raised on tv and wanted some action!! So not long after having an eye removed, she just up and booked it. Girl😭 (that part is unrelated to her source but I needed some way to make her look a lil roughed up lol)
She is very dramatic and likes to make fake props or squeeze berries to make fake blood. She is THE best at special effects, this is not up for debate. Which brings us to Chatters...
No one really knows where Chatters came from, but he seems to have had an interesting life up to this point! He was a kittypet at some point (if his lack of claws is anything to go off of), but he apparently had been part of a clan in the past, as he acquired the name Twitchtail. Tangle however hated this name and upon Chatters being fine with it, began brainstorming something new. Weaseltooth, always one for nicknames, had taken to calling him Chatters, due to him always chattering his teeth when he was afraid. Which was most of the time. And he seemed to like the name so it's just stuck ever since!
He is almost perpetually nervous, and prone to bolting the moment he hears any scary noise ever. He is also mute which I forgot to mention on his ref SHOOT. He's actually a white cat, but his fur keeps getting stained when he rolls in the grass, and he isn't the best at maintaining a good cleaning schedule. Hence why the only spots where his real fur color comes through are places he's most likely to rub or scratch. LISTEN MAN IN HIS SOURCE MATERIAL HE'S VIBRANT GREEN😭😭😭 I HAD TO DO SOMETHING TO WORK WITH THAT💔
Weaseltooth is from a free to play game I had on my first ever phone, and ok Chatters is too obscure he's from a toca boca game😭 do with that what you will (apparently he had an actual canon name this entire time and I didn't know until VERY recently??? I have been dubbing him Chatters for a DECADE WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE HAD A REAL NAME THIS ENTIRE TIME???)

DRIZZLEHOP AND SHRIEK!!! They're from two different clans waayyyy far from where Rootclan settled. Their clans weren't too happy with cross-clan relationships, so they eloped and went to settle somewhere else.
They're the last of the bunch to join, and wait till they know the leaders are chill before officially settling in. VALID LMAO
Drizzle was the best tunneler of his old clan, and a very distinguished gentleman! He's very polite with his new clanmates, and takes a particular liking to Lucky, playing whatever new game she has come up with.
He was actually the one to create the burrow they all began using in the winter! The previous year it had been pretty rough on everyone (given Weasel practically DIED😭), and he figured staying below ground could help! He used the roots of the tree above to help keep it from caving in, and made sure to add a couple extra rooms in case they would need them later
SHRIIIEEEKK SHRIEK MY LOVE!!!! SHE IS MY SILLY BILLY she's best known for her ability to use echolocation. Having grown up in a clan that lived in a dark cave, that is a must-have ability😭 She often lets out little squeaks when caught off guard, and will use her screech to startle possible threats. She ends up training some of the clan (Chatters, in particular) more strategies to guard and defend camp, as that was her main job back home! I'm not 100% sure what language she speaks because in her source it is a language that Doesn't Exist but let's just say she speaks some other language exclusive to warrior cat land because I am struggling here😭 HOW DO YOU TRANSLATE EMOTICONS😭😭😭
Both of these last two are from one of my childhood favorite puzzle games!!! I will never forgive cartoon network from stripping it off everything except for steam😭😭😭
