Jordanian Sun
Jordanian sun loves me so much
that it kisses me to the wounds.
In spring it’s tender in its diffident touch
In summer it burns with no rules…
It’s ancient companion of Jordanian lands
That nourishes soil with its power,
Forging the characters in yellowish sands,
Adamant, stubborn and dour.
Jordanian hearts, they beat with the sun,
They follow its pulse, with no doubt.
The Kingdom of Jordan with sun has begun.
Allegiance to it is avowed.
