"Usable? Are you kidding me? Look at this thing, the handle’s falling off! How is that usable?" Severa’s practically yelled at Cynthia, emphasizing her anger by waving the said axe in Cynthia’s face. Her heroic instincts kicking in, Cynthia leapt back a few feet. She was just in time too, as she had leapt, she had seen the axe slice off the end of one of her pigtails. Ooohh. I was only joking when I yelled at her before. But now…what the hell is she thinking waving a weapon in my face. That could have been my head instead of the end of my pigtail. Simply unforgivable!
Meanwhile Severa continued her stream of threats. “Well, Robin told me to do inventory checks today, so apparently he thinks I can handle important things like this! What did you do today, Cynthia? Wash some dishes? Sweep the barrack floor? I’m the one doing all of the real work around here, so you’d better give me some respect, or I might just run out of lances before the next battle.”
"I thought you were supposed to be the hero? What are you doing, criticizing innocent and hardworking people like me?" Severa ended her long winded speech with a jibe.
Cynthia was ready with one of her own. She faced Severa with her hands on her hips. She wasn’t going to give way on this one.
"Why Severa…you are quite right! I did in fact wash some dishes, after I made food for the soldiers in the army. With good food in their bellies, they can march and they can fight." she said with a touch of pride, "As for you, you broke someone’s weapon and not only that. You said yourself that the head of the axe was practically falling off of the handle. Yet you then proceed nearly cut my head off with it. I wonder how you would have explained that to Lucina. And if you don’t believe me, then see for yourself: even though I jumped, you still managed to take off a sizable chunk of one of my pigtails." Cynthia pointed at the pigtail that had suffered from Severa’s wrath. After venting her anger a little, she felt rather bad. This time, she was the one that had been mean, instead of Severa.
"As for me being unheroic for criticizing you….well I suppose I am. I am, however, heroic enough to admit that and even apologize. So here you go: Severa I am sorry that I criticized you and how you went about your work."
Even though she had apologized, Cynthia wasn’t able to look Severa in the face. Partly because she was scared and partly because she felt guilty.
Staring at her feet, she said timidly, “I know a little bit about repairing weapons and I thought that I could teach you. All that axe needs is a little bit of loving care and to be mounted on a new handle. The bow unfortunately is irreparable.”
