Keith gave a surprised look before looking at the large boxes in front of him. “I know I ordered cheese, girls like cheese,” he said giving her a smile. Finding the box halfway down the pile he unearthed it for her, opening it up so she could see. “Cheese with extra cheese…for the people who just like it plain,” he teased.
She smiled at Keith before nodding. She grabbed a plate and pulled one of the smaller slices and put it on her plate. “I’m starting to expand on different things not pizza though.” She said before taking a bite. “I like cheese pizza, it’s the one thing I don’t think will change.” She said before looking down at her dress for the night, it wasn’t skin tight but it was long either, it was a blue dress that came down to her knees, it flattered her small frame and her hair was pushed out of her hair.

“Oh, I’m sorry darling… I hadn’t seen it was you.” He held up the book he was checking out. “I think I already found it, but thanks for asking.” He shrugged. “You must have seen it when it came in? First edition, Hemingway? Missed it?”
Meredith eyes shined softly before nodding. “It is a classic. I love it, I put it on the shelf and haven’t touched it since. I am afraid that I would steal it if I held it. You can smell how well kept it was. I was surprised it was donated.”

Keith’s Apartment | Saturday Afternoon
Keith moved one of the boxes out of the way as he set down the pizza. There were plenty of people in and spilling out of his one-bedroom apartment, but he didn’t mind. It was the weekend, so people tended to be more lenient when it came to noise and Keith was having fun.
Opening one of the boxes that held pepperoni and pineapple (Keith’s favourite) he turned to the person standing next to him who was holding some of the soda that was also ordered. “Oh!” he said, forming words around the hot cheesey goodness in his mouth. “Um…here! That can go here…” Keith cleared off part of the counter of new kitchen supplies (since he had none of his own before) and made room next to the plethora of alcohol provided.
Meredith was handed a large soda, since being away for the past few weeks maybe a party would help bring her back into the scene. Of course Keith was throwing a party she followed him to the kitchen and put the soda down making a face about the pizza. “Why can’t we be normal and get cheese?” She asked before looking up at Keith with a small smile.
“Can I help you with something?” He closed the book when he heard movement behind him, and he turned towards the person who had walked up behind him.
“That’s kind of my job. Can I help you with something” She said as she glanced at the book in his hands. “What is that?” Curiosity got the best of her again.
“It would be really great if my neighbor could not practice at this time of night. How is anyone supposed to sleep through the noise of badly played trombone?” Crystal said, in hopes that her neighbor would actually hear her, although she knew it was unrealistic, unless he had super-hearing or something. Turning around to walk away, she noticed that she wasn’t all that alone. “I- uh…”
Meredith giggled before covering her mouth. “He isn’t that good.” She said before biting her lip. “Sorry I was just walking home and heard you...” She said softly.
Meredith thought she was alone and it was late in the night. Most humans were asleep and she was practicing her magic. She had become more powerful then she had in a while. She was working hard when she touched an object she could almost find who it belonged to by just touching it. As she was sitting down she saw a ghost and waved to her before going back to work, whispering a spell making the ball levitate off the ground.
shawn-green-eyed:
“No, I am just resting a little, I was jogging, I was actually running back home, but I decided to rest a little bit before I could do so, I needed a little rest” he said with a small smile, noticing how the girl seemed down, he wondered if he should or not ask her what was wrong “Everything’s alright?” he decided to ask after a few minutes, hoping she wouldn’t be annoyed by it.
Meredith looked up at the man and shrugged a shoulder, a little surprised by how genuine he was. Meredith had picked up that part of her powers now, telling when people were caring or pretending. She shrugged. “Family stuff. It’s hard to explain unless you are involved.” She said not trying to sound bitchy.
“Well aren’t you a little wise one.” perhaps a hint of condescension in her voice, though it was masked awfully well “And who are they? When it comes to you and your life, who’s the one’s that use such things against you?”
Meredith shrugged, her eyes glowed with confidence. “Not in the mood to tell you my life’s story and I’m sure you don’t want to hear it either.”
“I’ll point him in your direction if I ever see him again.” he smiled at the thought of Tristan not being buried in research, though, stranger things had happened “She try and drag you out a lot?” how weird it was to think that for a while, this girl and his Lily thought of each other as siblings “Peace in a place like this? Might as run away now, kid.”
“I would have more luck of finding him then you would, because we probably hang in the same places.” She said before shrugging not really wanting to share that personally information. “Yeah, but it doesn’t work sometimes.” She cocked an eyebrow. “I stopped running, kid.” She couldn’t help but giggle at calling him a kid. She was over hiding and letting people push her around. She was strong and wasn’t going to let anything happen anymore.
“I suppose it is, for both of us.” something she meant in that moment, so that was nice. “And you take pride in being awkward? I’ve never tried – teach me.”
Meredith was a little unsure of the girl, she seemed bitchy but honest and that took a lot for someone to do. “I take pride in all my flaws, if not they will use it against you.”
“Sierra.” was all the wolf said, though her eyes drifted back towards the girl who seemed sort of.. – off. “Awkward silences were never my thing.”
“It’s nice to meet you for a second time Sierra.” She spoke lightly before nodding. “Awkward silence is what I do best.. Well being awkward in general.”
“Is that the vibe of give off?” he asked, cocking his head to the right slightly before shrugging “My giant of a brother is always reading, can’t drag his ass out of our place most days.” and the only other person he’d walk around with, well, he couldn’t “How come you’re always by yourself, huh? Works both ways.”
“Yes.” She stated in a matter of fact tone. “Ah you are similar to Lily... I suppose I would like your brother more than I like you..” She said before shrugging. “I am not following anyone, I enjoy being by myself and having my peace.” She had so much to think back and remember that most days she was alone trying to practice,
“Very astute of you.” the wolf spoke, eyes going to the girl whom she might have slightly recognized – oh, that’s right “Ferris wheel girl.”
“What’s your name, I prefer to be called Meredith.” She said before tucking some hair behind her ear and yawning softly.
“You get your birthday off after all?” he casually asked, remembering the last time he had seen her.
She looked up at the man again the feeling of doubt was back in her stomach. “Yeah. I did I hung out with an old friend and had a swell birthday.” She faked a smile before looking around. “Why are you always by yourself and being all stalkerish?” Maybe he was the stalker that had been following her lately.
Avoiding everyone this day seemed like the greatest idea anyone had ever come up with; so, that was what she was doing. Laptop in hand, the wolf had settled against the side of a large tree, eyes looking at the screen as she shook her head “No, don’t mind me, just catching up on some work.”
Meredith wasn’t going to go out of her way to say anything to the girl but as she girl settled down, Meredith looked closely, she looked like the girl from the fair. “I have seen you around before...”
The sky was setting under the fall sky, she could feel the leaves change the ground grew older everything was changing, this was her first time feeling okay with herself everything was becoming calm again, she was learning to deal with the problems thrown her way. She laid her head against the tree and closed her eyes feeling the presence of someone. “Can I help you?” She asked.
