there’s a spark || flashforward

Why hadn’t she taken a vacation sooner? If she had known it would be something like this then she should haven done so a lot sooner.

Sinking deeper into the chair, she let her long form drape lazily across the furniture as she rested in the shade. She had never been able to enjoy this side of Barcelona before. Usually, if she traveled, it was on the hunt for something. Now it was solely a trip for herself. Some time away to rest and step away from her usual hunting business. Though, old habits die hard and she had heard of some unusual activity a couple of small towns away.

Her eyes flickered open lazily behind her shades as she sensed someone walking up to her and felt their shadow fall across her. Shifting her sunglasses back her, a warm smile crept across her features as she recognized the other. “What are you doing here?”

He snapped his eyes open when he felt a hand on his arm. “Sneaking up on me isn’t the best way to stay healthy, darling.”

the good news is - he’s actually still alive.  which is peachy.  and far preferable to the alternative.  the bad news is - he feels as though he’s been dropped in a blender, hit full spin with a handy set of tenderising blades and then hurled off a 100ft bridge.  the wites and tubes threading their was around and into his body are annoying, and there’s a incessant, really annoying bleeping assuring him that things are - functional.  if... boring. 

this is the part of hunting he’d rather avoid.  and while he’s sure that most of the rest of the populace of arcadia would just pop back to their feet in a few hours, thanks to whatever supernatural mojo they had working on their side... that’s just not how it works for humans.  and for all his skill and training and instinct -- it’s still not easy to stroll away from a couple of pretty serious bullet wounds.  not to mention that the bed is uncomfortable.  the pillow behind his head is more ‘lump’ than pillow.  there’s no tv.  and he’s staring at the back of a half-drawn curtain which is... just thrilling.

“what’s a guy gotta do to get a cup of coffee round here?”

the question voiced to the world in general in slightly parched and scratchy tones.  a beer would be preferable, but he thinks that it’s probably one of those things that’s ‘frowned upon’ while recovering from major injury.  not to mention thinning the blood from the infusions he’s just had is maybe not such a good idea.  but a coffee?  couldn’t hurt...  just something ‘wet’ to dampen dry lips and soothe his sahara like tongue.  and maybe, just a moment of actual human interaction - because that curtain sure as hell ain’t getting any more interesting...

“That looks nasty.” Erik came to a stop in front of a girl who had taken a fall on her hike through the woods, he could see that she was bleeding a little and the smell of it was almost enough to drive him crazy. He didn’t say or do anything, he just stood there, staring at the blood as the girl tried to get his attention to help her but her voice was a bunch of white noise... until he heard someone else join them. “Great.”

Lana sat on a bench in the park with the unopened envelope with the symbol of the hospital in her trembling hands. She knew that she had to open it at some point and she also knew she would probably have to do it soon so she could actually get started if she happened to be accepted. With one smooth movement she ripped the envelope open and then her eyes started to read the words that had been typed on the formal paper. "O my..." She stopped breathing for a moment and her hands started to shake even more. "I got it! I really got it!"

Kira blew her hair out of her face as she stumbled back into town, at some point during the night she had decided to go for a wander (in wolf form) and woke up a couple of miles away from the area they transformed in. Now she had bits of leaves and stuff in her face, hair and all over her clothes, Kira had found her way back to the clearing before coming into town. No one had died, that was the important part.

“Well this town certainly looks beautiful during this time of the year” Jacqueline murmured, looking at the flowers with appreciative look in her eyes. Taking a walk through Arcadia, she worked on getting her bearings, where important buildings are located. She stopped shortly just in front of City Hall, observing the building. Knowing the end goal she has for this town. Soon... But all good things take time. She has the time... Especially with the unique conditions that Arcadia is in. 

 Seeing movement out of the corner of her eye, Jacqueline glanced over and smiled at the person that crossed her path. “Well hello there” She smiled, letting her shoulders curl in a bit. Looking docile. Small. It typically helps to not come across as a predator. Dangerous. “Am I in your way? I am new to this town I am afraid...”
