@ofcamelot: is getting a starter for reasons
The preparation for the yearly Fairy Ball (as it had become to be known) always took up most of Vivienne’s time the week leading up to it. But the night of the celebration, it was time to relax and mingle with her guests. Many, she had known almost as long as she had been in existence. A few new faces. New spouses of old friends who might not be around for the next year. But they were all treated as old friends.
She moved through the crowd, stopping to make small talk with her guests. Of course the Court had stuck together, the boys (and Kerry) coming and going. Viv caught a glimpse of Lancelot, resplendent in silver leading a young woman to the dance floor. She might not have thought twice about it if she didn’t happen to see the looks that passed between the Knights. And Kerry coming toward her, clearly on a mission.
“What happened?” she asked once the woman was close enough. “Something’s wrong?”
