HUMANWRATH / 𝕛𝕒𝕘𝕖𝕣 .
— low purring
❛ ah—? ❜ tranquility / where she feels softest; and there’s nothing quite like the quiet assurance of this tempered stray. she blinks sudden surprise at the vibration beneath her form, blinking wide a moment before she slips into a laugh, hand reaching out to brush the top of him : ❛ well, you’re a good boy, aren’t you ? ❜
you know, technically we're married.
(laughing nervously) what the fuck
she brushes back sable locks, plucking the flower’s stem from her lips and placing it behind the girl’s ear. she considers it, then smiles. ❛ the white ones suit you, mikasa. ❜ :’^)
❛ …—- !! ❜
SHE KNOWS it is only her own cruel imagination / a trick of the mind, a hallucination ( like a silver fog in her bedroom ) but longing has wrapped its fingers around her neck, squeezing tightly, selfishly demanding to be fed / the “I” that wants so much, that craves what it cannot have / not now, not ever. And it is only in a dream / a memory, that Mikasa finds herself once again back in that place, underneath the unruly twigs and over-long branches of the wild apple tree in Shiganshina. It is late spring, she knows, for the wind is warm and gentle against her skin — the glow of the late afternoon sun paints everything in red and golden, and as she pictures her there / dark locks draped over one shoulder, caressing the tired curves and edges of her face, a knot forms in the pit of her stomach. It is not real / in her heart, she is aware that it is not real, and yet, Mikasa still experiences the phantom sensations of her fingers against the shell of her ear as she carefully tucks a flower in her hair. The white ones suit you, Mikasa / a daisy. The flower of her past, of her childish innocence and naivety. She makes movement of her body, and then gently rests the flat of her palm against her cheek, trying to suppress the grief that threatens to break her composure. A lifetime would certainly not be enough to thank the woman that took her in that night / the woman that tended to her injuries and cleaned the blood-splatter from her hands and clothes / the woman that lulled her back to sleep after she would wake up screaming — frame shuddering, bones trembling / the woman that cared for her, and told her to survive / the woman she abandoned and left buried beneath the rumble and the ruins of their own home — limbs crushed, flesh wounded. The memory still haunts her in her sleep ( like a shadow looming over her ) and Mikasa wants to apologise and ask for forgiveness but she remains silent, too afraid to utter a single word / to make a sound. She lowers her head and bites her tongue, the taste of iron soon filling her mouth.
( Thank you. Thank you … for everything. )

u know the thing about having a carla blog is that you can’t even shitpost your tears away from it. like “reaches out of the grave to put a flower in your hair” ? no, sorry, her body fucking rotted in an abandoned district by itself.
humanwrath replied to your post : u know the thing about having a carla blog is that…
where’s the rest of the FUCKING ESSAY OP
AN ANALYSIS OF CHARACTER TRAITS CARE / AND WHY CARLA YEAGER IS THE MOST VALID BITCH IN THIS WHOLE SERIES —
she will fucking ALWAYS put others first. she knows firsthand how dangerous the corps can be, and you can’t blame her for being so unimpressed with them. up until erwin took over (which hadn’t yet happened when the wall was breached) the corps were nothing more than a bunch of men charging into battle HEAD FIRST and coming back empty-handed with nothing but their pride, grasping at straws. she saw them as nothing more than fools, because they were. the only real reason to go out like they did was for some semblance of “understanding” or hope for “extinction” when it was clear how easily they were outnumbered. she wasn’t just a pussy, she was being logical. all she saw were thick headed knobs trying to prove a point or holding some death wish with little outlook on how throwing their lives away might affect others, unlike her. every single action she takes has the inherent notion of its benefit to people around her.
she isn’t shy about calling shadis out for recruiting people at her bar. she could easily ignore it and let them make their own choices, but she’s there to make sure people know he’s rosy-ing up the situation and that they don’t need to feel obligated to fight so blindly.
when she gets ill with the sickness that overtook shiganshina, the first thing she asks grisha is to forget about her and find her parents instead, and she falls for him when he does just that. she wants to spend her life with someone who would be just as forth-giving, and that’s why she so easily fell for someone like grisha, who fucking paraded into the castle to cry at the queen about doing something to help them, over shadis.
when shadis absolutely SLAMS her, she just fucking,,,, LOOKS at him, and smiles, and tells him it’s ok not to be “special”, because there’s nothing concrete determining what makes you so. she tries to tell him what she’s been saying for years; it shouldn’t matter how people see you, it’s you alone who decides if what you did is / was worth it.
she never tries to keep full control over a situation, and trusts others to act on their own as well. she does ask for her husband’s input (despite him not saying what she wanted lmao), and despite only knowing mikasa for about a year, easily trusts her to look out for eren as she does in turn.
in the end, she was so against eren joining the scouts because it put his life in danger, but also because a ) of how bad the SC were doing up until then, and b ) because she saw how her son behaves. she’s simply putting her foot down in an entirely warranted, maternal way. because you HAVE to be strict with your kids sometimes. at twelve, eren was easily VERY foolhardy, just as she states. JUST LIKE THE FAILING SURVEY CORPS, he charged into battles head first, and got mad over being reminded how often mikasa would save him. she was scared BECAUSE she thought her son was simply like those men she stereotypes as only joining the corps through having something to prove about their strength / whatever. and i’m utterly convinced that if she’d lived, she would have grown to accept eren’s choice as he matures. why?
because he’s already special. no matter what he decides, so long as eren realizes that, and thus she knows it’s his unaffected choice, she’ll accept her children no matter what they choose, because in the end she wants nothing more than their happiness. she’ll be scared, and sad, and that’s normal. but she’d accept it.
carla isn’t being stubborn for the sake of being stubborn, she isn’t selfishly trying to keep her kids at her side. we know this because her last thoughts prove it, but she represses them to save their lives. as much as she wants them to be by her, she’s willing to give up that inherent craving easily, even under a moment of dire stress. even without thinking, this bitch never behaves selfishly.
carla yeager is the altruistic, hard-headed mom we all deserve and there’s Nothing you can say to dispute this.
never forget that softness is strength, unflinching / against the knife and it is also the knife.
