Alec noticed the fish tank in the hall foyer and pointed frantically

“Well that really is remarkable if you do and good it was from far away. I can send up some chocolate cupcakes. Maybe some chocolate strawberries?”alec nodded not sure what either even was but wanted to be polite

“I don’t think you will,” Ferre assured him, “I’ll stay with you, keep you company.”

Alec watched Ferre’s eyes carefully and looked down with a sigh and held his stuffed fish. “I’m sure he misheard.” She laughed. “A siren noise in sure you would remember. Now.. what would you both like for dessert?”

“I don’t think you will,” Ferre assured him, “I’ll stay with you, keep you company.”

“Of course! I heard Elliot say you guys heard at least one siren making noise from far away? Do you remember that from the ship?” She asked intrigued.

“I don’t think you will,” Ferre assured him, “I’ll stay with you, keep you company.”

Alec paused for a minute but nodded happily. “Would either of you two like desert?” Ferre’s mother called

Alec silently huffed but nodded. He tried to gesture that he felt the same about the water and took another bite of food

Alec nodded picking up the pineapple piece again and taking a bite. He gave a sympathetic look listening to him and squeezed his hand with a smile. He brought his hand to his head and motioned waves

Alec dropped the fruit he was holding and gave ferre a questioning confused look and held his hand out shrugging and gesturing from him to continue. Was this is? He wondered but pushed the thought down. Did Matthew somehow know something still ? His mind went frantic until he forced himself to shut the mental door that had burst open and focus. He took a deep breath nodding at ferre to continue

Alec shrugged and gently pet the crabs head quickly moving him behind his own pillow giving an apologetic look but also one of slight annoyance that he was even there. He smiled patting the bed when ferre had the food. Alec covered one of his eyes then pretended to have a sword trying to ask about Ferre’s trip

Alec wanted to nod but was unable too from the magic. Instead he shook his head and drew a slash as if to say injury. “I have your dinner.” Ferre’s mom called

Alec frowned a little. He should have known that was coming. He shooks his head and did a slash and pulling movement trying to motion that it was done to him. In that moment more than ever he wished he could speak. Tell him everything and hope that ferre still wanted him for him. Still cared for him and liked his world too. He stared down at his hands and carefully wrapped the blanket back around himself. When something caught his eye. The crab. He quickly moved to cover him with a pillow and sat up leaning closer to ferre

“I don’t think you will,” Ferre assured him, “I’ll stay with you, keep you company.”

Alec pointed to the bed. He wasn’t sure he could face Matthew again at least this soon. “Alright I’ll bring dinner upstairs for you both. Ferre’s mother smiled

“I don’t think you will,” Ferre assured him, “I’ll stay with you, keep you company.”

“Will you want to join us for dinner or would you both like to have it up here?” She asked. Alec walked out of the bathroom now changed in dry cloths he played with his sleeves and sat back down on the bed watching the fire

Alec nodded and smiled a little at ferre. He pulled another blanket handing it to ferre. “Can I get a fire going do you both?” Ferre’s mother asked “you’re positively drenched, both of you get changed.”

“I don’t think you will,” Ferre assured him, “I’ll stay with you, keep you company.”

Alec nodded and repeated the pushing motion then pointed to this throat and the balcony. He grabbed one of the blankets thinking of it as a large towel and squeezed Ferre’s hand reassuringly

“Right.. I should be going. I’ll leave you two be.” Matthew said making his way out. Alec didn’t look up till the door was closed. He made a pushing gesture with his hands and pointed to the balcony

“It’s alright. I understand. I trust you.. it was him I was unsure of.” He gestured. “I see I was wrong now. My apologies.” He said simply with a sincere smile. “ I don’t suppose you found out why he can’t speak.”
