If there’s one thing Niall’s always know about Harry, as kind and considerate as he is by nature, his easy eyed gaze and politely dimpled attention was always, slightly harder to keep and pin down.
Maybe it was the effects of being in a good looking 5 piece boy band, knowing that at least half the world population of teenage girls worshipped the ground you walked on while harbouring dreams of being Harry Styles one and only, his true love for the rest of eternity.
Harry dated of course, a neon bright eclectic mix of gorgeous women and talented guys so different from each other that Niall was almost convinced Harry treated his brief romantic encounters like he was a kid in an old fashioned sweets shop. Sampling all the free chocolates and sweets with a carefree ease while harbouring casual intentions of not purchasing anything at all.
His sweet shop tendencies never seemed to evolve into anything more, they were always brief with no hurt feelings on Harry’s part. Knowing this always sent an unexplained rush of relief flooding through Niall’s system, a gentle release of pressure from his slightly hunched shoulders whenever Harry would seek him out, like he always did at the end of each brief relationship.
“I don’t know Ni I just like testing the waters ya know? Tasting all the candy available, spending time with people and experiencing everything no matter what size, race or sex they are, love is love after all” Harry answered with a slight shrug of his shoulders, dimples and teeth on full show and eyes so soft with undeniable adoration as he looks at Niall.
“Love is love huh? Whatever you say Willy Wonker I think you’ve been eating too much candy mate” Niall can’t help but tease him again, can’t help the way his breath catches in the back of his throat when he sees the way Harry’s eyes immediately light up at his Road Dahl reference, an infectious giggle erupting from his beautiful rose coloured lips before being covered by two hands to stifle his laughter as his eyes peer over his hands at Niall.
Niall’s heart misses a beat. Or two. Or three just looking at Harry. And jesus christ he’s beautiful, disarmingly gorgeous, a real fucking dork yet utterly delightful in every single way.
Niall is so so gone for him it isn’t funny.
Niall doesn’t even get a chance to comprehend or acknowledge his sudden revelation because Harry is suddenly just there, all over Niall, tackling him onto the couch, digging his fingers into all Niall’s ticklish spots.
