kcd-verse hans should fake his death in 1419 bc i dont like the idea of him dying in his 30’s AND also it’d be juicy drama for him to sneak into rattay months after his death to try and convince henry to run away with him so that they can be together without having to worry about hiding
ANDDD i think henry should be absolutely furious with hans, because he’s had to spend the last couple months losing it while helping hynce and jitka (optional, since we dont know when she dies historically iirc. so coin flip on whether hynce is an orphan or not atp) manage the estates he suddenly inherited because while henry thought he lost his best friend (and more), hynce lost his FATHER. and at this point henry has experienced the loss of both martin AND radzig, he knows how hynce feels and he knows that he has to step up and help hans’ kid, because that’s what hans would have wanted him to do.
except apparently henry DOESN’T know what hans would have wanted him to do because he DIDNT KNOW FAKING YOUR DEATH WAS ON THE TABLE, HANS.
i just finished "for whom the bell tolls" in my second playthrough. it wasnt even half as mentally scarring as on the first one.
mostly cuz i ket ulrich suffer and did the fever potion as soon as i got to the alchemy table
anyway, while i was fresh out of prison and carrying the sacks i imagined henry having an inner monologue
the sun is warm on henrys skin. after he spend most of the night and early morning in the damp and cold cell, the sun was a nice change. he would do anything but carrying sacks thought. he got no choice and while he is doing the monotone task, two voices started a quarrel in his head.
"stupid hans, got us into trouble again."
"but he helped us at the brawl."
"did you forget what he said at the wedding when we found him?"
"what are you doing here?"
"correct, but how he said it. like we are some dirty god who dared to approach him. like we were unworthy of everything."
"true but we were interrupting his date."
"date?!"
henry scoffed out loud.
"yes date, he was with a lady."
"urgh still, he acts like we cant do anything on our own. we worked hard to get to that wedding."
"indeed we did."
"he couldve asked what we did or say hes happy to see us in one piece."
"true."
there was silence.
"also remember the pillory."
"what."
"he kicked us, insulted us and was a total brat in general. he started the fight for christs sake."
the first sack is dropped at its location. henry turns around and steps in the outside again. he puts his hands on his hips, taking a deep breath.
"off to the second sack." he mumbles to himself.
he picks up the sack and makes his way back to the drop off location.
"he apologized though, dont forget that."
"pah, half assed and only because he was stuck with me. he complained all the time about the walls anyway. it was never about the apology."
"he doesnt do well in small rooms."
"he shouldve just kept silent then."
"didnt you hear how awkward it was for him."
henry grumbles audiably.
"he deserves a punishment nontheless."
"hanging because he was rude?"
"no, no not because he was rude. and also not hanging. something way less just to tesch him a lesson."
"hes a noble how will you punish him anyway?"
"who said its gonna be me? he deserves a lashing or something."
"imma have you getting lashed if you dont hurry up with thos sacks." a guard barks next to him.
"aye aye, im sorry." henry apologized and picked up his pace. he decided to leave his thoughts be and get done with the work, not like he could do anything else really. he has to save hans somehow and hes running out of time.
