Hello! Thank you for the question!! 🤩 Im about to ramble a hell of a lot, so apologies in advance😅! When i think of Caine and Pomni's dynamic, I like to think of her as kind of his co-host! In the beginning of the circus, Pomni followed Caine's lead and trusted his judgment above all else. She and Caine's relationship was near iron clad, and whenever she glitched out or came up short, Caine was always there to help her. However, as the AU progresses, Pomni begins to drift away from Caine and her priority becomes helping the main cast become free. While, Caine... just wants Pomni to be his co-host again.
Pomni's relationship with the cast is complicated... I drafted a image to try and help explain how the au works (at least for the moment as it may change in the future)
In the beginning, before the cast learns that Pomni was not meant to be part of the circus, they did not like nor trust her all that much.
The only one who really liked her is Kinger, partly because he knows why she's there with them (even if he doesn't quite remember anymore). Kinger feels mostly endeared to Pomni, and will sometimes treat her as if she were an actual player. Unlike Caine, she was the only one who checked up on him after Queenie's abstraction and genuinely tried to help.
Jax sorta likes Pomni because he sees her as a gullible idiot. If he claims her helping him may make him happy or help his mental state, she'll do just about anything, which usually leads in a lot of hijinks. However, because Pomni is an AI and because she works with Caine, Jax knows she cant be fully trusted.
Ragatha wants to like Pomni, but there's a part of her that feels like whatever she tells to Pomni will go straight to Caine. Still, therapy sessions with Pomni are one of the only places she feels sane and seen.
Zooble tolerates Pomni more than they do Caine, mostly because Pomni knows when to leave them alone. However, Zooble feels like Pomni's care and feelings are all surface level, and that she really doesnt care about them. To Zooble, Pomni's just another clueless AI who is intentionally keeping them trapped in the circus.
Gangle feels more neutral to Pomni, and likes that Pomni will spawn art supplies for her or fix her mask, but sees her an as extension of Caine that overall cannot be trusted.
Caine is just head over heels for Pomni. From the moment he was made aware of her existence, he knew that they belonged together! With him crafting the perfect adventures and Pomni maintaining the human player's psyche, they made the perfect team. It helped too, to have someone understand him and made him feel seen.
After the "second act" (which is what im calling it for now) when the cast finds out the real reason Pomni is in the Circus they begin to actually trust her. However, Bubble begins to act out against Pomni more often and Caine's attitude begins to shift.
