Melody was clumsy, anyone that knew her knew that. So it didn’t particularly surprise her when she tripped on the sidewalk, on seemingly nothing.  What did surprise here was the fact that when she’s landed, it didn’t really hurt. It was soft almost. She was also surprised to hear a groan of pain beneath her. She had fallen onto someone. 

““Oh my god! I am so sorry! Are you okay?”

“This little guy’s name is Kale. I know– it’s a vegetable. Don’t get me started. Kale is great and goes in smoothies. Not the turtle, obviously. The vegetable. Anyways, Kale really enjoys kale so that’s why I named him that.” Nemo carefully picked the turtle up from the tank he was in. “I thought you might like to meet him that’s why I had you come over. I know you like turtles a lot.”

Kale, now that was actually a cute name. She never thought naming a turtle after a vegetable would be so perfect. ““Oh my gosh, this little guy is adorable!” She said as she reached out to gently touch the shell of the beautiful creature. ““Kale is the perfect name for him. Thank you for letting me come and meet him  !”

Melody nodded in agreement with her cousins assessment of the practicality of having her hair up. ““Yeah it’s pretty hot out there already, so I definitely second the iced coffee idea. Especially if you had a long night. Are you alright?” she asked, mild concern on her face.

Mel loves spending time with her cousins, and was happy when her and Aquata decided to spend the day together.
