Hi! I’m Alex, and I broke my leg 2 weeks ago and had to get surgery ( proof ). I’m healing very well, but despite me having a job I’m having to miss 2 months of said job to heal. Y'know, since I have a broken leg and can barely walk on it. I’m not quite sure how my insurance works, and if I’ll have to come up with funds for the bills I’ll be receiving or not for some of the costs. 3. Brothers, sisters? Who do they like? Why? What do they despise about their siblings?
silk has a younger half brother that is substantially younger than him. listen, this story might sound familiar, but i swear this existed about silk before we had an inkling about beau’s past- but silk isn’t a fan of his baby brother because once he was born, silk was demoted to...well, property, basically. with a legitimate heir, silk as no longer an asset but a liability, and the thing you do with liabilities is get rid of them.
4. What type of discipline was your character subjected to at home? Strict? Lenient?
strict. very strict. if he didn’t meet standards, there were consequences, and when he was younger he was so eager to please, the colder than usual shoulder was the perfect way to punish him. his father never laid a hand on him, but there was a lot of mental and emotional manipulation.
5. Were they overprotected as a child? Sheltered?
they tried to keep him sheltered, but as he got older, he became harder to keep track of and control. he went out and broadened his horizons of his own accord.
17. Did they travel? Where? Why? When?
silk has traveled all over, no matter the setting. between being a merchant and an adventurer, staying in one place was never in the cards.
18. What did they find abroad, and what did they remember?
silk found allies he could count on, and what he remembers- there’s a lot. the sun setting beyond some mountains. the smell of oil and ale from his allies. the screams of the dying. blood splattering across him. his first time on the ocean.
20. What were the most deeply impressive political or social, national or international, events that they experienced?
silk is...a babey, so there hasn’t been all that much, and it depends on the verse. but in the game he originally came from, he was involved in quelling a mage rebellion and ending slavery.

he...feels empty most of the time, like there’s just a hole where honest emotion should be. the closest to feelings he gets is contempt and disgust for the most part, and an incredible sense of being better than everyone else. this has the side effect that when he does feel something, he has no idea what to do with them or how to deal with them healthily.
37. How is your character’s imagination? Daydreaming a lot? Worried most of the time? Living in memories?
he doesn’t dwell in his own brain most of the time, it’s not the best place. the closest he gets to indulging in imagination is when he plays his violin.

power. respect. admiration. he wants for people to respect him, maybe even fear him a little, for who he is, his own skills. he wants to have control over his own life, dancing to no-one else’s tune than his own. what he needs, however, is probably some basic goddamn kindness and to learn his own self worth outside of the way people perceive him. silk is willing to do almost anything to get what he wants, just barely short of selling his soul. he’ll lie, he’ll steal, he’ll kill his way if he has to and the only thing that’s stopping him is the thin sliver of the good person he was when he was as a child.
