What is the point of having a tumbler account if you’re going to so radically suppress how consenting adults feel about pornography and our individual views, on posting, relating and expressing ourselves about our own personal sexuality? Porn blogs still posting porn until December 17th is the equivalent of the band playing while the Titanic was sinking.

On December 17th I will be saying goodbye to TUMBLR and I’ll be deleting my blog...

I know for some this whole ban is trivial… some have only had their blogs for a short time… and some have blogs with SFW content so it might not impact them… and then there’s those out there who will be delighted by the notion of me deleting my blog and leaving this platform.

For me though… its been a punch in the gut. I started this iteration of my blog over 8 years ago, and in that time I’ve amassed almost 27 thousand followers, and I didn’t just do it through posting porn, I did it through sharing my life with you all, through posting and speaking about polyamory, through posting incredibly mixed content that somehow resonated with all of you. For me, this site is so much more than just some social network or some site to kill time and get off. For me this is a window into the world. It is a community of like-minded geeks and furry horn-dogs that I love. It is the outlet for the truest version of myself. And now its all being taken away from me, and honestly, I’m devastated.

To the 26,512 peeps that decided to click that “follow” link and to those that have stuck with me from the beginning, through drama and scandals and accusations and periods of silence… THANK YOU. Among all the fandoms, and the butts, and the jokes and memes I was able to find our two amazing partners (and one ex that I still care about, always), and I have made some of the most enduring friendships of my life. That is the real magic of Tumblr, and its something I’ve had to remind myself of several times today when I started feeling like I wasted 9+ years on this website. Tumblr changed my life, mostly for the better.

That said… I can’t keep curating a blog devoid of passion, devoid of personality. I can’t/won’t continue knowing what it was… I will not keep curating a blog that will be a husk of what it once was.

I might create a new blog for text posts only, so that I can write things at length and post them on my Twitter, a place to answer questions, talk about polyamory, etc. And I will do my best to archive/download my blog, specifically in the hopes of saving all the discussions and posts regarding polyamory, perhaps I will re-blog a nice selection of those into a new blog before deleting this one.

Anyways, that’s it for now. Maybe Tumblr will reconsider this idiocy and cancel their purge. If that happens then NEVERMIND. lol Big big hugs.

You know what sucks the most…

…about Tumblr removing adult content? It’s that this place was more than just about porn. Its where I gained my first semblance of confidence. It’s where i found that people appreciated guys like me. I wasn’t just the ugly fat guy that I felt I was. People liked me for who I am and how I looked and slowly I started to believe the possitive things people said about me. I was lucky enough to experience that, and so I’ll personaly be fine. But the idea that someone who has no self worth or self esteem can’t come here to experience that same sense of pure acceptance for who they are just doesn’t seem fair to me, because I honestly don’t know what I would have done without this place.

Tumblr was a refuge for a lot of people. It was a means to express themselves sexually without ridicule or judgement. It helped people grow and feel good about themselves. It’s not just about the loss of some cheap titillation for a lot of people. It’s been way more important than that and it’s a shame they’re willing to sacrifice all of it just because they couldn’t keep a handle on their porn bot problem.

So many people, myself included found our body confidence and body positivity through the admiration and kind words of others like us. The people all to often excluded or shunned in many aspects of life, LGBTQ+ communities, and on mainstream porn sites.

Tumblr for all its faults, and it has a lot of them, has supportive and caring communities, especially for things like body confidence, body positivity, and chub4chub. But I feel that without the full freedom to post candidly, people will feel they can’t talk and express themselves openly and have no choice but to go elsewhere.

Precisely this. I’m still miles from liking who I am but talking with you amazing people and having these what I hope are lasting connections have meant the world so me. I actually looked at a bathing suit the other day. And thought huh maybe this summer. And small things like that is because of having a platform like this to express myself and find me real me. To all who helped me feel this way I think you and truly hope this isn’t a countdown to the end.
