Nah man it’s crazy to me that some people will say that Jensen had a lack of reaction to what Misha/Cas was saying in the confession scene on behalf of Dean because COME ON

I know someone has def talked about this but I just have to articulate this somehow or else I will explode. Dean’s pained expression and the slight head tilt give me the impression that in Cas saying “I love you” on his metaphorical death bed, Dean’s thinking “Not now, please not now” because he’s losing Cas. There’s a sense of complete and utter hopelessness because of course it was always going to happen like this. Of COURSE he’s getting everything that he’s wanted for so long and losing him at the same time. And his face says EVERYTHING.

And then the way his throat works like he’s swallowing down what he really wants to say, or he’s trying his best to SAY what he wants to say, OR he’s doing that thing where you’re trying not to cry but that makes your throat hurt for some weird reason. Any and all of these could be it.

And I never understand the people who say this is out of character for Dean. I know he softens up just a tad in the later seasons but Dean wasn’t about to jump into Cas’ arms and run off with him. BY THE WAY IM TALKING STRICTLY CANON HERE GANG! I don’t like the way the writers screwed them over. Any of the characters really. But I’m working with what we got and I (maybe stupidly) have faith in a spn s16

And yeah that’s my mini rant about THE scene. I think Jensen (and of course Misha) did a wonderful job at portraying Dean’s character here and it was very in character for him no matter how shitty the writing was

I’m continuing my SPN rewatch because what else is there to do when there’s firework out and you’re too awake to sleep? X3

I’m at 12x19 now, again, don’t remember what the episode is about by number alone. My dislike of the BMOL and Lucifer (and even Nephilim) plots made me grumble my way through this season even though it has some good episodes.

Also, Cas is very pretty in this season so it’s scandalous that I don’t enjoy it more *lol*

Or do I enjoy it? What’s my general verdict? I don’t think I like it? S12 is so odd to me. Such fantastic ideas and not ideal execution…

That aside. After a montage of Sam laboriously doing research (*lol*) we reach the first Dean and Cas scene, after Cas has been on mysterious Kelly related disappearances again.

Okay, the situation we have is familiar to us now. Dean is worried / angry and therefore is being an asshole to Cas about a) things that were in Cas’ control (i.e. going to Heaven without telling Dean and Sam, not that he’s technically required to do so. The Winchesters seem to do a lot of things without checking in with Cas first so what’s the double standard for?) and b) things that were completely out of Cas’ control. What point is there in getting angry at Cas that they had a shot at killing Dagon and missed?

I mean, I was getting grumpy already when Sam said “we’re glad you’re back” to Cas and Dean countered with a “are we?” and then just is a huge dick. Very surprised Cas can take it (that was a poor attempt at a joke.)

I like that Cas went to apologize and that Dean could communicate what the issue for him is (even though he could have apologized for being an asshole about it but eh. We’re not there yet.) And I love the mixtape scene. However, it is overshadowed by the fact that Cas most likely used the returning of the mixtape as a pretense for seeing if the Colt was in Dean’s room (he is looking around). And Dean later claims that Cas came into the room and “played” him, which means he must have reached the conclusion that everything that the entire conversation as just a “play” by Cas, which I don’t think is true. Cas turns to leave the room after he most likely saw the Colt. So the conversation was genuine even if Cas might have used his apology as a way to get access to Dean’s room…

Now, of course, I can’t be too one sided (hard not to, I am in my Cas girl phase) because the fact that Cas decided not to tell Sam and Dean about their plans and request to get the Colt for it was a bad choice. I’m all for Cas being an independent angel who doesn’t need Sam and Dean’s permission to solve large scale cosmic issues that don’t only concern Sam and Dean. I understand why he does it - he thinks Lucifer is his problem to solve and he wants to spare Sam and Dean the agony of having to kill an innocent human for the greater good. Well, not just spare but also make sure it gets done? He does explicitly ask Dean if he or Sam would be able to kill an innocent and Dean can’t answer. (Not that Sam and Dean haven’t killed humans before but they suddenly have morals when Cas makes the “technically” right but morally ambiguous choice. X3) But even though I understand it, he should have told them. What point does lying serve?

Just because I can, and to deepen the pain, I'm trying to rearrange the takes that make more sense in the progression of Dean's eye wetness, dialog and lighting.

The way Cas is talking about "the thing" that he wants while looking at Dean. Is my current bittersweet torture. His eyes sparkling like he is watching the most beautiful star. The brief smile because he has "it" in front of him, the most wonderful creation he ever saw in his time on earth. The half sight because he is more convinced now that Dean is "the thing" that he wants. Dean is his happiness and he is starting to feel it.

I mean look at him....

Makes me want to scream into the void. Of course it's a love beyond measure in space and time. It's the absolute realization of him being nothing and Dean being everything for him. It's Castiel angel of the Lord ™ acknowledging his vast and everlasting existence, beeing invaded by this miniscule human who is everywhere inside him.

The best response, is Dean's confused face when he hears the last phrase: "Something I know I can't have"

I think this is the "homofobic" or "disgusting" face some "critics" or "meta writers" or "desperate Wincesters" that were melting and chocking in their own foam when they were watching this poorly lighted scene. And made memes from it the very night or next day the episode aired.

Watching this with a better lightning and tracking the consistency of Dean's progression of tears. And with my certified authority as an old Clown in this rodeo. I conclude that we have two possibilities:

Dean expression is because an obvious confusion about everything he is absorbing from every word Cas is saying. Remember, my first theory is that he was the one about yo spill the beans and say HIS FEELINGS for Cas first, because he was convinced at that moment they both were going to die. Till then he wasn't aware of Cas feelings as explained by the Jackles this past weekend. Therefore, confusion and incredulity were and obvious progression of his reaction while Cas was laying his feelings for Dean. A sense of incredulity for the meaning of this words as he listened from Cas lips and read from Cas's eyes.

He already catch Castiel's point and understood the meaning and direction of every word he was saying. He knew Cas was winning him on the "last day on earth" love confession. Therefore, acknowledging the feelings being exposed word by word by Cas in front of him. Hearing Cas saying: "He can't have the thing he wants". CASTIEL CAN'T HAVE DEAN. Evoked this gesture of confusion from Dean. To explain, I propose the following Dean's inner dialog:

"Why do you think you can't have me?"

Or

"What makes you think you did not have me since long ago"

Now you know why I have to share the pain, and then retrieve to my personal pit of despair. To keep editing the shit out of this, while eating glass that may be more confortable than thinking about all the What if-s or Maybe-s that could happen that night, or really happened but were intentionally hidden in the editing and poorly lighten scenes.

So, like many, I have been on the train of human Cas endgame for a while now as well. But I have a different idea to offer today.

One of the main reasons I thought him becoming human was the goal is the happy deal. Because, as per Cas’s own earlier words, only humans can feel true happiness. So, in my mind, Cas had to become human, choose to become human if you will, in order to let himself be happy. And then the Empty would take him (never once have I thought that becoming human would’ve saved him from the Empty, but I get why some people did).

But Cas… oh Cas, that beautiful wonderful angel… he was lying!

He proved in later seasons that angels can feel strong emotions. He was pure emotion the entire last season. With Jack, with Dean. And then the 15x18 hits and he is happy. He is truly, wonderfully happy in that moment, that is not a lie. 

At least one angel can feel true happiness, can feel true sorrow. It is not that this angel feels less than humans, that his feelings are muted. No! It’s that his feelings are so big and so overwhelming that he chose to shut them down. I suspect it might be true in some way for all angels, but it’s really true for Cas, the one with the crack in his chassis [insert some meta about Cas being the one who was repressed here].

What did Cas want? He wanted to be with his family of humans, he wanted to have a home with them, with Dean and Jack and Sam and Claire. He wanted to love and be loved in return.  Being human or angel would’ve been secondary. A means to get that. His mistake was thinking he’d have to be a powerful angel to get that and since this is a story, of course he would have to be proven wrong and thus, endgame human Cas must be where it’s at. Storytelling, eh?

He was wrong.

But so was I.

Why would he have to change who he was to have it all? No! He would’ve been loved and accepted in any shape or form, we know that, we know that!

Cas being an angel but choosing to feel all those big and overwhelming emotions humans can’t even comprehend, choosing to let that love in, the love those humans felt for him would’ve… well, I personally think it would’ve been even more beautiful than him choosing to become human in order to live and feel the way humans do. Him being accepted for who he was - an angel with too much heart. 

Now, there’s several reasons why people wanted human Cas. Destiel? Newsflash, Dean would’ve loved him anyway! Him having to see his family die and live alone for eternity? Umm, angels can see and feel souls, they can go to heaven or hell or wherever. Him having to feel like a guardian? That one is on Castiel and again, choosing to let himself be loved for who he is, it is not written in angelhood. Shitty angelic family? Having a shitty family doesn’t mean you have to change your genes to separate yourself from them.

It comes down to a choice, it always comes down to a choice.

Him choosing to become human.

Him choosing to have those feelings and letting himself be loved while still being an angel.

On this fine day of 2021, my choice is the second one.

This is true. People who knows about me and my crazy thoughts know I always rooted for healed winged Castiel. I always believed Castiel would recover his wings as part of his complete happiness. Being an angel is part of his essence.

It was a love story from the very beginning.

The One That Matters To Me

(11x01/11x02/11x03)

Hello my friends! I can't believe we arrived to s11 with these Chronicles!

This season is one of most analyzed on the fandom, so I will try to share with you everything I found in my rewatching, but I warn you, most of the things had been discussed on the fandom and are canon facts.

Is a very blatant season to analyze, even the writers were more TEXTUAL when they wanted us to see the SUBTEXT, so, it was easy to see in this season what was it talking about.

Welcome to season 11! Here we go!

"I'm not here to bring you peace."

From the very first moment Amara appears in front of Dean, the dialogue talks us about how Dean will fight back their forced bond...

DARKNESS: I like it here. With you. I haven't felt this peaceful in a long, long time.

DEAN: Well, let's get something straight -- I'm not here to bring you peace. I know what you are.

This happens in the first episode in season 11 and Dean is showing her the limit. I'm not here to bring you peace. It means, I'm not here to be your friend. We are enemies.

He's marking the boundary between them. And this will be his fight for the rest of the season.

Worried about each other

I want to talk first about a little foreshadow with a Castiel mirror we had in episode 11x01: Mike. Mike was dressed in blue and he had just lost his wife while giving birth his little baby. And Mike will die too. So we had Kelly mirror/the dead mother, Castiel mirror (Mike, foreshadow of his dead) and Jack/baby Amara.

But let's talk about the Destiel phone call.

DEAN: Where the hell are you, Cas?

(The scene flips between Sam and Dean at the hospital, and Castiel in the woods.)

CASTIEL: I'm...I'm okay.

DEAN: You don't sound okay.

CASTIEL: Dean, I am fine. Besides, what I have, you can't help me.

DEAN: What do you mean, what you have?

CASTIEL: Just please tell Sam -- Rowena escaped with the Book of the Damned and the codex.

DEAN: Okay, forget Rowena. Where are you?

CASTIEL: Now, you tell me -- the Mark . . .

DEAN: Oh, really? You're worried about me after everything that I’ve --

CASTIEL: Dean, is it gone?

DEAN: Yes. I'm good. I mean, I'm not great.

CASTIEL: Makes two of us. (Dean puts Cas on speakerphone) This is good news.

Okay this is very sweet, first of all, Cas doesn't want Dean been worried about him, so he changes the conversation, but Dean teuesnto make him come back to talk about how is Cas. But Castiel switches again, asking about the mark. Is hilarious because they want to know about each other safety but not to tell about their own, because they put each other first.

And Castiel face of relief is too much for our heart. Like... Thatvwas the only thing that matters to him, and vice versa (💙💚).

And then, Dean thinks Cas should be mad at him after he kicked his ass in the bunker but, as always, Cas forgives him.

But not just that, the last quote Cas says makes Dean worry more.

CASTIEL: (pauses at a sound in the woods behind him) Sam, Dean . . . Goodbye. It may be some time before we see one another again.

DEAN: Wait, Cas. Cas!

If Dean wanted to get away from that hospital, now he wants it more.

First Kiss

Episode 1 ends with Amara saying this...

"We're bound, Dean. We'll always be bound. You helped me. I helped you. No matter where I am, who I am . . . We will always help each other."

But episode 11x02 starts with Jenna saying this interesting quote...

"Had my first kiss at that blue house over there."

We all recalled the kiss between Dean and Amara and how that, after a few episodes, was taken as a curse, (I will explain this in the following metas) But is good to point this quote, with Jenna being the righteous girl mirror of the righteous man saying her FIRST KISS happened IN A BLUE HOUSE.

What this means? It means... Dean had his first kiss with Castiel. (blue=Cas) It means Dean is already taken. Dean has already a chosen profound bond with Castiel. So even if Amara is saying 'we're bond' or even if she kisses him, Dean has already his first kiss with Cas, their profound, strong, unique bond with his angel. The man he loves.

This is the episode in which Billie appears for the first time, making a presentation of what the Empty will be, and I forgot to mention in the episode 1 Mike says he will go to hide into a dark place and wait. Mike, as Castiel mirror, is foreshadowing Cas in the Empty, the place where nothing comes back.

This episode shows us too how angel's torture Castiel, mocking him about his bond with Dean, and threatening him to cut his virility, just because they are against Castiel's relationship and feelings for Dean. Much of them find it dirty, against their Sacred Oath.

Paying my debts

Episode 11x03 (directed by Jensen Ackles) showed us a very protective and touchy Dean Winchester 😏

The spell Rowena threw on Cas powered up his guilts and weakness, so it terrified Castiel at the point to leave him weak and depressed, facing his fears and dark side.

When Dean finds him tryin to hurt a woman, Cas, out of his mind, fights against him, and Dean just functioned as a receptor of his punches.

Dean tries to reason with him but it was in vain, till Rowena releases him.

The scene in which Dean comforts his friend is very touchy and warm. He grabs delicately Castiel's head and tries to search for his eyes. So sweet and I can't stop watching it... Of course Jensen /Dean touches Cas/Misha marvelous thigh after this, but that's just fanservice... Or Cockles, whatever 😏🤣🤣

Is very sad too after all of this, watch Dean rejecting Castiel's attempts to heal him. Because he needs to pay a doubt. Because it hurts him so much he punched Castiel after everything he did for him and after hearing his loyal and full of love speech. So he prefers to carry with the physical of being hit by his powerful friend as a purge of his guilts.

To Conclude

From the begining season 11 settles Amara had came to prove Dean's profound bond with Castiel. She's darkness, and curse, and Castiel is light and chosen love.

Castiel starts to drown into his own darkness (depression and fears).

April 18, 2021 - Supernatural trends after more scripts are released [x], [x].

It’s slowly becoming a tradition that whenever a new script drops, Supernarural trends on Tumblr. This time is no different. The fandom is mostly discussing the script to Tombstone (13x06 - writers’ second draft [x]), but several other scripts were leaked today as well (12x02 Mamma Mia; 12x04 American Nightmare; 13x02 Unfinished Business - outline; 14x05 Nightmare Logic - Blue Pages). The thing that hit the most is the fact that according to these scripts, after Cas’ death in season 12 finale, Dean spread his ashes in a meadow by a windmill. It also states that seeing that Cas is back was the first time Dean felt truly happy in all season.

There is a part when Cas explains free will to Jack [x], a moment when Jack recognizes Cas and another when they talk, getting to know each other, as well as some more Jack moments:

Fans are also comparing the scripts to the dialogues in the episode, as well as to other episodes [x] [x]. For example, according to the script, Cas watched the movie Tombstone after “they” had taken him to a midnight screening, while in the episode, Dean says that he made Cas watch it.

And a moment later, when Dean and Cas leave the car to talk to local detectives and get more information about the case, the script describes it like this:

Loving The Monster

(10x22/10x23)

Hello my friends! How are you! We are here! The last meta from season 10.

Are you ready for the angst? Okay! Let's start!

Killing your own reflection in the mirror

When the episode 10x22 'The Prisoner' starts, we meet Cyrus Styne, the younger member of the family Styne. The subtext is telling us he's different from the others Stynes, and also, that he's queer. Immediately my head went to THIS BOY REPRESENTS DEAN'S INNOCENCE. He was a mirror of Dean's repressed feelings and good heart.

Pay attention to this dialogue, in which a young man bullies Cyrus, and we can infer the kid is queer.

THE BULLY: Styne. Yo. Hey, man. Hold up!

CRYUS: What?

THE BULLY: Me and my boys, we got a bet. How much of a virgin are you?

CYRUS: What?

THE BULLY: I mean you ain't never got laid before, obviously. You've seen a boob, right? I don't mean on Game of Thrones, I'm talkin' about in the wild, you know.

CYRUS: Is this a joke?

THE BULLY: I look like a comedian to you? Answer the question.

CYRUS: (pauses, then smirks) You look like the kind of dude who wants people to think he's hood. But no. See the, hundred dollar haircut, the hybrid keys, I'd say you grew up in a white-bread wonderland. Your dad's probably a dentist, your mom's mostly Botox and they both bang the pool boy. Oh and you like rap, but you're scared of black people. Even Will Smith.

Okay, the bully is insinuating Cyrus is gay, but Cyrus is calling him out for his discrimination. Is simple, and is all on the dialogue.

By the end of the episode Dean will be shooting this kid in the head, as if he were shooting at himself. At his innocence, the old Dean, the one that can be saved. He feels the kid being part of this family of monster, will become a monster, hopelessly, just like him.

Another mirror of Dean's repressed feelings is the case of the murdered girl in episode 10x23.

When he sees the girl's corpse, he acts again as he acted with Cyrus. He watch the girl with disgusting eyes and mocks.

After that, he behaves the same way with the parents. Is like if he was talking about himself. Trying to force an idea over his own innocence. To make the process painfulness. He's a monster now, and the part that was good on him never had an opportunity.

Again, family love and romantic love parallel

When Dean and Sam were driving back home after burn Charlie's body, this sad dialogue bwas developed...

SAM: What was I supposed to do, just – watch you die?

DEAN: The Mark isn't gonna kill me.

SAM: Maybe not, but – when it's done with you, you won't be you anymore. Dean, you're all I've got. So of course, I was gonna fight for you because that's what we do. (...)

This is a parallel with Castiel's speech at the end of episode 10x22, and it happens in the same chapter so we can compare FAMILY LOVE vs ROMANTIC LOVE, here is his brother fighting for a way to erase the Mark and put Dean safe.

And we have the famous and infamous pathologic codependency.

But Castiel's words were said with a very heavy romantic concept.

CASTIEL: You killed him.

DEAN: I took down a monster. Because that's what I do. And I'll continue to do that until...

CASTIEL: Until you become the monster.

This is the idea running through Dean's mind, the center of all of his thoughts. He needs to kill all humanity inside of him, so he can become that monster and maybe someone else will take him down.

DEAN: You can leave now, Cas.

CASTIEL: No. I can't. Because I'm your friend.

Cas is showing his loyalty here, even if their bond is trembling, he will stay by Dean's side.

CASTIEL: No! You're not. Maybe you could fight the Mark for years. Maybe centuries, like Cain did. But you cannot fight it forever. And when you finally turn, and you will turn... Sam, and everyone you know, everyone you love... they could be long dead. Everyone except me. I'm the one who will have to watch you murder the world. So if there's even a small chance that we can save you, I won't let you walk out of this room.

Here we have the maximum expression of Castiel's love and loyalty for Dean. He won't be able to kill Dean, even if he becomes a monster. That's why he says I WILL HAVE TO WATCH YOU MURDER THE WORLD. That means CAS WON'T NEVER KILL DEAN. Because he loves him, what kind of love can't kill for the greatest good? Not taking the war strategy but the heart's choice? Romantic Love.

Dean swallows. And they fight. But Dean can't kill Castiel neither.

Everyone Loves Something

Episode 10x23 talks about how Dean sees his reflection on the mirror after hurt Cas and kill Rudy.

He doesn't like to become that monster, he doesn't want it so he decides a very dangerous plan. He calls Death into a Mexican bar, with folkloric pictures about Death.

The colors in the decorations recalls TFW colors (Green/Red , Blue and Yellow).

But it will be also the scenario in which family love will be part of Dean's salvation through his brother. The other half, romantic love, is centered on the spell with Castiel.

The spell had three ingredients, and the three ingredients screams DESTIEL.

ROWENA: “Sumsu mimma ezebu ilu ma ikkibu Lu." "S-something made by God, but forbidden to man."

SAM: Forbidden?

CASTIEL: The forbidden fruit?

This is Castiel, he's the forbidden fruit made by God. Forbidden for Dean. And also, the forbidden fruit is relate with sexual desire.

ROWENA: "Something made by man, but forbidden by God."

SAM: Okay, well, God forbade false idols, right?

CASTIEL: The Golden Calf.

And this is Dean, Castiel's mundane idol. Castiel redirected his faith from God to Dean. Dean is now the human forbidden by God.

So, the first two ingredients talks about SACRED OATH, FORBIDDEN LOVE. DESTIEL.

Now... The third one is Oliver.

It had to be something Rowena loved, and she said she didn't love anyone, but curiously, Castiel almost ran towards her... Saying this particular words...

CASTIEL: I don't believe you. Everyone loves something.

Because HE KNOWS IT. He can talks with authority. He loves Dean.

And Oliver, dressed in Destiel colors? (Green and Blue) subtext my friends....

So, not just Sam (family love) saved Dean but Castiel (romantic love) with a very Destiel spell.

To Conclude:

Dean was giving up, by killing his innocent mirrors in episode 10x22 and 23.

Charlie's death was the detonate which makes Dean become a monster.

After fighting with Castiel and killing Rudy, Dean fights again it to defeat his own monster. But his idea is basically ask Death to take him away.

Family love (Sam) saves him, but mostly, Romantic Love erases the mark, hidden inside the subtext of the spell ingredients.

Every time I see this post by Moira and Jensen's comment I feel hurt.. This happened on the day of Misha's irked face and it was all too much back then. But I understand the bigger picture now.

Day after Spanish dub dropped and Destiel trended again, Misha dropped a video about it being a rogue translator and then later apologised for his judgement. Misha was hurt because of a misunderstanding and he thought fans didn't feel satisfied about Cas confession but fans were only feeling hurt towards how the show ended..Misha got it all later ,what it was all about.

And somewhere, Jensen fished this post out and left a comment that break and mend hearts at the same time. Remember! In Jensen's mind Handprint was Misha's idea. And He couldn't involve directly in this spanish dub incident because this isn't about him. Hell.. it wasn't even about Misha yet Misha got himself involved. In this post what I see is Jensen did his best and chose to back Misha up in a subtle way and told us at the same time to take it easy because Misha did his best and THEY did their best to make sure Destiel was acknowledged textually. He hasn't commented this way about any of the recent episode not the finale..not even close. So this comment was a take-note.

For me it also sounded like he wants us to be happy with what we got. Be grateful.. And we are! we certainly are.. Misha was told thousand times by fans that what is troubling the fans is not the episode 18 and Castiel's good bye. It is episode 20 and how they all got nailed. Ironically what fans shouted out most about is related to Jensen's character arc more than Misha's. Yet somehow Misha got intervened and fans got sensitive and hurt. Jensen optimised a subtle shield for Misha by leaving this comment.

What hurts is, Misha listens but I am not sure Jensen has a clue as to what is going on. He might check things up regularly and we wouldn't know what he takes in. Frankly we dunno if they know that they are not our issue. They never were.. Because we know they are as much of victims as we are in this massacre of a finale.

I just hope no one pulls a Jim Beaver stunt asking fans if what they got is not good enough. I respect Jim but Fans didn't get even bare minimum. Not even close.. I just hope Jensen knows that Destiel going full canon was not our only concern. I just hope he didn't limit us into "the fans who wanted to see two DILFs kiss onscreen but didn't get to so they lashed out". It was never about that. Destiel fans would have been happy with the bare minimum but we didn't even get that. And keep Destiel aside. What We really wanted was Dean Winchester and Sam Winchester to have the endings they deserve. And now when you look at it, at the end of the day, it is mostly Destiel fans who are the ones still mourning and fighting for that matter.

Jensen was alone in that writers room when everyone else was on board.. he is the only one who did not feel it in his gut the way ending was going. Now we are Jensen.. In ways, We are so much alike Jensen.

Alright I had to suffer this pain so now y’all do too. So in 13x14 Good Intentions we are shown that there are cameras in the dungeon room, and you can watch the feed on a laptop. 

You can obviously see it here with Cas watching the feed. And now here is Dean in 15x19 Inherit the Earth

He’s surrounded by beer bottles, clearly watching something on the laptop in front of him. I’m willing to bet my whole goddamn life he was there, rewatching Cas’s confession to him, replaying the moment he says “I love you” until he blacks out. Also not to make this more painful that it already is, but where Dean is sitting looks very similar to where Cas’s name is etched in the table 

I’m not 100% sure about this being the same spot but imagine Dean, obviously watching Cas’s last moments over and over again and digging the same knife he used to ward the door against Billie to painstakingly carve Cas’s name into the table. Picturing himself being able to say his name to him again, just one more time.

That’s valid. It’s the glove scene that gets me, one animatedly removing the other’s gloves while the second man is limp and panting,… and then they open the curtains. … @caslighting might be implying that spn was an exercise in the art of getting away with the perfect murder.

Both stories would be fantastic. As @caslighting & @books-heroes pointed out on the meme post (x), They still would have needed cooperation or complete ignorance from at min the director or camera operators, and editing team.

On further reflection, I am once again convinced that 15.20 was Chuck’s desired ending. The answer was always there in 15.4

Snippets of dialogue:

Becky: Okay. If I had to give it one note...the jeopardy, Chuck. It’s feeling a little...thin? Low stakes? It’s fun to hear the boys’ voices, but a story is only as good as it’s villain, and these villains are just not feeling very...dangerous? Not to mention, there’s no classic rock. No one even mentions Cas. The climax is a little stale. Boys tied up again while we get the villaib’s monologue, which, frankly, isn’t one of your best. A little originality wouldn’t hurt.

A few scenes later after Chuck tweaks it a bit more:

Becky: It’s awful! Horrible. It’s hopeless. You can’t do this to the fans. What you did to Dean? What you did to Sam?

So, the whole point is that 15.20 was deliberately written as bad. We know Andrew Dabb can write. Is he my favorite writer on the show? No, but he was more than capable of writing a decent episode. There was a reason the finale was just so abysmally awful, and that was to follow the Chuck bad writing he spewed out in Becky’s house.

Everything is right there in the script - no one really mentions Cas, there’s no classic rock, Sam and Dean are treated terribly.

To go even further on meta, I think it’s possible there were always two endings. One was the worst possible outcome, and that’s what we saw. The bleakness, the emptiness of the situation. Obviously Covid happened, which no one could have predicted back when the 15.4 script was written. The need for isolating Sam and Dean may have been another factor in going with that version of the script.

And yet.

My mind still reflects back on the funko pop of Cas being included in front of the roadhouse in Becky’s props.

It is possible that Cas was going to be there in this situation. Dean was always going to die, but he may have found Cas again and found some semblance of peace.

The network could have been handed the two versions of the scripts and chose the one we saw that didn’t have Cas and had the bleakness. Maybe it was homophobia of showing the gay angel again. Maybe circumstances like Covid forced everyone’s hands. We may never know.

But yeah I think there were two versions of the ending and the one that aired had Chuck’s version.

Cain's Mark vs Profound Bond (Part. III)

Hello my friends! I'm here with the third part of this meta, and we will be close to the end!

I will talk about episode 20 and 21, and how they showed a lot of hints of foreshadow, anticipating the season ending and the beginning of season 11.

Let's start!

What your heart really wants

Episode 10x20 Angel's heart, starts with a desire coming from a heart that belongs to a woman that was separated from her lover: Amelia and Jimmy Novak, and their fake encounter in Amelia's drama induced by a Grigori.

The Grigori fed with human's soul, by putting them into a dream. Just like the djin.

Two facts to describe here:

1) We were talking in previous episodes about what Dean really wants. We had him confessing he wanted to explore these new feelings about people (we know it was Cas), trying to imagine his retirement in the beach, and now we had this scene... A woman trying to find the love of his life. Dreaming with find him. The perfect manifestation from her desires. And we know the episode will end with Jimmy and Amelia together in Heaven. So, what Amelia really wanted was to find his husband. Again they're showing us what a heart really wants linked to a romantic situation.

And the episode is called angel's heart, leasing us to Castiel's pure heart, and making us think what he really wants too. He wants to recover Dean from the Mark.

2) Having the Grigori feeding with himan's souls, is a blatant foreshadow of Amara feeding with souls in season 11.

Married

Keeping the Jimmy/Amelia and Destiel parallel and mirror. We had a very married situation when Castiel and Dean came back from interrogatory, and went together to buy a birthday gift for Claire.

There's a little moment in which Cas confessed to Claire where he had bought the gift, and Sam turns to see Dean, with a face that tells DID YOU GO TO BUY IT TOGETHER? And is just hilarious.

Another married scene was when Cas scolds Claire and Dean. It was just a very domestic situation in which the daughter and the husband received vituperation.

It was so sweet when Claire asks Dean to take care of Castiel...

CLAIRE: Will you keep an eye on him?

(Dean and Claire look over at Castiel who is talking with Sam) He's been through enough.

Okay, this has such a beautiful meaning, and screams foreshadow too, because Claire knows how had was to Cas everything that happened to her and her family, but she also knows about Castiel being a human. And she sees him as a protector who needs to be protected too. And she, as a protector, feels identified with Dean's profile. Then, she knows Dean is like her. So she trust Dean to take care of the angel.

But Dean replied "SO HAVE YOU" , as a recall of himself.

There's a song playing talking about blue eyes crying in the rain, and meet that loved person again. It could fit with Claire, it could fit with Jimmy, but, if we take the quote YOU KEEP AN EYE ON HIM, knowing that Castiel will be possessed by Lucifer in season 11, and Dean will say I WAS JUST A WITNESS, we could speak about a LOVERS SEPARATION, thanks to Lucifer intrusion, and those blue eyes crying in the rain coul for perfectly with Castiel's depression, causing his YES to Lucy, and Dean could be that one longing for find him again, just like the song says.

The Betrayal

In episode 10x21 "Dark Dynasty" Dean finds out about Castiel and Sam's "affair".

This is a very sad episode, because Charlie dies. In a very bloody picture...

But let's talk about the "affaire"... Watch this dialogue...

DEAN: Wow.

SAM: Hey.

DEAN: Well, you look like crap on toast.

SAM: I just haven't . . . really been sleeping well.

DEAN: There's a woman you haven't mentioned?

SAM: A woman?

DEAN: Well, I'm just saying. You weren't here when I went to bed last night. You've been running off on your own a lot these past couple weeks.

And then... The weird call...

DEAN: Cas?

CASTIEL: Sam.

DEAN: No, it's Dean. What's up?

CASTIEL: Nothing. I'm just, uh . . . Just staying in touch. Like I do.

DEAN: Something on your mind?

CAS: No. This call is pointless. My ride's here. (Cas hangs up on Dean.)

And the foreshadow I picked up at the beginning of this season...

So Yes, he caught Cas' and Sam cheating on him.

And then this scene, showing us Dean is about to find out...

ELDON: Were you here when I mentioned that we're underground? There are secrets.

DEAN: Well, I'm swell at uncovering secrets.

Pointing us he is good at uncovering secrets, and Cas and Sam working at his back, is like a red alert about to sound.

Finally, there were little quotes talking about the balance and disaster that should been repaired. As a premonition of CHUCK/AMARA LIGHT/DARKNESS YING/YANG. Balance. And of course, erasing the mark will release the darkness, and somehow the brothers will have to fix it.

To Conclude:

Both episode gave clues about the incoming season. The Mark of Cain vs what Dean really wants in his heart continues his inner war, showing us through different episodes that Dean wants, deep inside, explore the love he has inside for Castiel, and a better ending.

Charlie's death will release the monster inside of Dean, and we will have a lot of angsty situations (mostly Destiel) to talk about in the next and last chronicle from season 10.

Cain's mark vs Profound Bond (Part II)

Hello my friends! I had to part this meta in three, this is the second part because... Is the nucleus of season 10.

The following episodes are talking about how Dean fights inside of him between what he desires vs his monster.

The Universe Against Destiel

When episode 10x18 "Book of the Condemned" starts, we have Cas and Metatron in the car, Alanis Morissette's Song Ironic playing, and Cas turning the music off.

Just pay attention to Metatron's observations...

METATRON: Really? That song is a classic. Yeah I hear you. I do. And you’re right. Inclement weather on the day of your nuptials and the wrong cutlery at inopportune times is hardly ironic.

This are facts that could ruin a perfect wedding. Just like the storm that is about to come between Dean and Cas.

Now... I want you to recall 13x23... Just for a bit.

Okay... Now... In episode 10x18 we had almost the same words coming from Dean...

DEAN: We’re due for a win, okay? Overdue. I’ll tell you another thing, if this actually does work, we’re gonna take some time off.

SAM: What, like a vacation?

DEAN: Mm-hmm. And I’m not talking just like a weekend in Vegas or sitting in some crap motel watching pay-per-porn. No, I’m talking about a beach. Drinking cervezas, go for a swim, mingle with the local wildlife. When was the last time either one of us was on a beach?

SAM: Never.

DEAN: Sand between our toes, Sammy. Sand between our toes

Both situations were showing one Dean having hopes in solve their situation, in season 10 he thought he had found the way to erase the mark and in season 13, with Jack and everyone back at home, dreaming about a perfect world.

And is not coincidence this appreciation came after his confession in that Church. We are exploring Dean's desires, what Dean really wants. A path we will walk with him through the following seasons.

Dean is the most important mission for Cas

This are not new ideas, but ... Castiel and Metatron dialogue showed us how important Dean is for Castiel.

His reaction and his disgust towards Metatron is evident.

METATRON:What? I thought we were having a moment. Can’t we be besties?

CASTIEL: No. Because you killed my friend.

Metatron is there too to make Cas face himself. Throwing at him questions like WHO ARE YOU?

When Castiel finds his grace back, the quote he has to decipher it has to do with him, and with Dean too.

What’s the maddest thing a man can do? Let himself die.

To give up. That's the maddest thing.

Laughing at last

The episode was full of red colors, announcing the big storm that is about to come.

But this episode had a sad and beautiful scene when Charlie meets Castiel.

As a fan, in representation of all the fandom, Charlie asks Castiel if he can heal Dean. Save him from his mark. Which Cas answers sadly NO.

So, okay, he won't cure Dean from the curse. It will be Sam. Why? Because he didn't burn the book.

When Dean arrived Cas is so cute and flustered that scene is gold, and then this one here under the inquisitive and attentive Charlie's (fandom's) eyes.

What is even that bow? Is the cutest, shy, dummy thing, he was caught by surprise by his crush! I can't. Let me die here...

But let's talk about that night...

Charlie, the little sister Dean never asked for, is the one creating hilarious situations with Cas. They're playing a children game you play to know about secrets like secret love. And that's so playful than even Dean with his last hopes destroyed, can enjoy. Laughing... At last.

Foreshadowing the Darkness

Just a short couple of comments about episode 10x19 "The Weather Project".

The mysterious MoL box in that house had a curse that possessed an entire family, it was some dark power that made people go crazy and suicidal. Some darkness taking control of people, just like will happen in season 11, first episodes.

Why Dean came back to Purgatory in his head? Because in Purgatory everything was clear. Purgatory is the same as cleaning guilts. So... It was the perfect place for him to be in that moment. He needed purity in his heart again.

To Conclude:

We are close to the storm, Cain's mark is about to win Dean's will, and the Universe could be against Destiel again.

The constant in these episode is an inner war between Cain's mark and Dean's truly desires.

The apparition of Charlie like the fresh air for Dean is the reason why it will destroy Dean to watch her dead, releasing the monster he was trying to repress.
