This has been sitting in my inbox for so long, and that’s mainly because I just didn’t know how to answer the question. This requires a whole lot of ‘splainin, and ‘splainin ain’t my forté, y’all.

'Splainin under the cut

A rather large plated elphantid. Shovel tooths live in sparse forest and spend most of their time wallowing in mud and water while digging up roots and plants to eat. They are docile and gentle, but become very aggressive when threatened. Their spiky plating helps ward off predators. Males have rather large tusks, which they use to battle other males to gain control of a group of females. There is always the potential of the loser to be inflicted with lethal wounds.

Snowy runners are native to the tundra, acting as a steed for those who make their homes there. Their fluffy feet and large talons act as a natural snow shoe and allow them to run and sit on the top of the snow, even with a rider on their back. Runners are carnivores and are avid hunters, feasting on medium sized animals, usually swallowing them whole. Males use their crest to help attract mates and those with the largest crests attract the most mates. Females have smaller and greyer crests compared to the males. They usually flock in small groups of 5 and consist of one male, with the rest being female. More or less the males harem. More creature design. Trying to draw at least once a day. Whether it be this or homework. Been procrastinating for way to long.

I wanted to practice on my animal anatomy so I wanted to create a cheetah and wildebeest hybrid. Been an idea ive had for a while. I also wanted them to live in a more tundra like environment, which is why the fur is white. They are carnivores and can run at high speed. Just trying to get more creative with my creature designs and trying to branch away from dragons for awhile. >>
