Kind regards!
The choral piece I started writing ended up not working out, largely due to being not skilled enough to trick Sibelius, something I will have to go through with James at some point. My plan was to create a work, with all parts being in different time signatures, with that time signature changing at each repetition. It was in a way a amalgamation of ‘Clapping Music’ and a really bad composer. Whilst theoretically it could be done, I felt it was best converted into a ‘mock avant guard composition’ and re-visited another day when there was just the concerns of musicality, and not a unit of work.
One could view the final use of this ‘resource’ as a bit of a cop out, but I do feel its important to give examples of ‘What Not To Do’, to help be concise with their ideas and not try to ‘break the rules all the time’
Almost there. This has been an eye opening experience, but one that, with more time to explore these methods & resource making could have been so much more.
This assignment is almost done! Should have more updates on the resources this afternoon, as well as a reflection and all that jazz. Till then, have some Hindson!
So much work to be done, but the resources are coming along! Here’s what I was up to this afternoon at Uni (ONLY BECAUSE MY COMPUTERS VERSION OF GARAGEBAND DIED :( )
It’s a shame that i’m lacking time to finish all my resources for this assignment. I don’t think they’re a true reflection of my actual creativity. Le Sigh.
Slowly progressing through my resources, I have started to send some of them off to current year 11 & 12 students for feedback. I’m concerned that some of these resources are too simple, and pandering too much to ‘simple’ learning and not taking my teaching to the ‘next level’ of incorporating technology. However, I’m confident that these will enhance, and strengthen my students’ skills not just for exams, but for their overall musical skills.
This task is getting crazy. I’m beginning to write a choral piece as a resource which will be interesting. . . . . more to come
I’m back. And this time. It’s personal.
The last time I did this blog it was a crazy time. This time, the gloves were off. No more BS, no more complaining, hard work. I’ve never been the smartest but a few bad marks here and there are just what you need sometimes to refocus. Onwards and upwards at great speed.
This is currently relevant!
Tech Assignment done!
Finding it more and more difficult to combine some of my already created music with the already released tracks. Hahaha this is going a bit crazy

Composition & Notation are up!
That feeling when done.
Trying to do this notation on a computer is almost impossible. Will be resorting to Pen, Paper & Coloured Pencils soon as so much easier
Still no fucking idea how to notate this thing, on the upside, it’s finished. (bar a few changes)
A progress update - Second Part of the tune.
I often debate why I chose this task when I have NO FUCKING WAY OF NOTATING IT
