âYouâve been standing there for quite a while ââ you got somethinâ to say?â
' yeah...I wanted to say you were nice looking until you opened your mouth...now I just want you to close it again --- '
There was no disgust, simply shock and confusion because he still didnât know what to believe. Was this all some sort of big joke? Oliver went a little wide-eyed when the girl asked for his blood and he glanced down at his wrist as if he were debating with himself, but before he could make any decision for himself the girl was taking his hand. It was strange, her skin should have been burning up yet her touch was ice cold but he could see the sweat on her forehead. Oliver let himself be drawn closer, sitting on the edge of the bed and nodding quietly as she leaned into his wrist. He inhaled sharply, it hurt just slightly but it was more than surprise of it all than anything else that caused his reaction.
The blood that filled her mouth gulp by gulp was so soothing. So sweet, sweeter than any animal blood she got her hands on. She almost didnât want to stop it was that amazing. She remembered that she promised she wouldnât hurt the male, she wouldnât be able to live with herself had she done something of the sort. Reluctantly, she unlatched her fangs from his wrist taking slow breaths. She felt an all new feeling wash over her, it was calming in a sense. Her eyes were slightly closed, yet she could vaguely see him. â Thank you...so much...here, for the mark... â She breathed out tiredly. Bringing her wrist to her mouth, she bit lightly so she could get some of her blood on her fingers. Taking his wrist back into her hand, she lightly rubbed her blood over the marks letting it go to heal. Closing her eyes all the way she managed to whisper out. â Donât go please... --- â With that, she fell into a slight slumber.Â
âYeah itâs a thing of morals, really itâd be best if we didnâtâ Noah said taking her hands and placing them by her sides âAlso probably for your safety along with my ownâ he said thinking about what Vixen would do to them if she even thought he was flirting with another girl especially one that slightly resembles her. âMostly my safety.â
â Morals? What morals could you possibly have now? â She pushed his hands off of her losing her own balance slightly. â My safety? Bullshit...Iâm juuust fine. â She regained her balance only to lean on his chest. â Câmon... â She closed her eyes. â Youâre comfy...I just want to sleep. --- â She mumbled.Â
Sera sighed as she watched Mel lay her face down on the bar, she wanted to tell her not to, that the bar was probably disgusting and grimy, but it didnât matter. Moving her hand to the girlâs back, Sera ran her fingers in small comforting circles as she let her talk, wanting nothing more than to just scoop her up in a big hug. âIâm sorryâŠâ She spoke, moving her hand to her sisterâs hair, brushing it out of her face to get a better look at her. She was so pretty, yet so broken. âSomeoneâs gonna fall so in love with you, Mel, whatâs not to love?â She asked, not expecting an answer. ââ and more for just a few hours, I promise.â
Mel kept her face pressed to the cool countertop, in a way it was soothing. Opening her eyes slightly she sighed closing them again. â Donât be sorry Sera...youâre doing what everyone does eventually. Leave me behind. â She rose her hand the best she could and tried to lightly knock her sisters hand away, failing each time. â Shh...donât lie to me...donât lie...Iâm a mess...no one wants a mess...unless itâs for a few hours...and Iâm...Iâm okay with that. â She felt a tear slip down to the tip of her nose and onto the counter. â Then eventually...when the time is up...they toss me aside and forget me...sad cycle...sad sad cycle...but! â She slowly sat up grabbing her bag sifting through the drugs she carried. â Thereâs always drugs... --- â
Oliver raised his hands in surrender, shushing her âOkay, okay, no hospitals, just stay calm.â He just shook his head as she insisted that vampires were real and she could prove it, but he was going to let her go on believing it to keep her from becoming frantic. As she opened her mouth to reveal fangs, his eyes widened âMi Dios,â he breathed and stood up âIâm not going to let you die.â Oliver wet his lips and was quiet, looking about him as he tried to figure out what to do âOkay, blood, I donâtâŠâ He was still skeptical, he didnât know how this could be reality but in the moment he was just desperate to fix things âHow do we do this? Iâm in.â
As he reassured her no hospitals would be involved she simmered down slightly. Nodding slowly she confirmed that she understood and in her way that was her way of saying thank you. Her eyes slowly fluttered opened just in time to see his reaction to her revelation. If she were lucid she would understand his shock and perhaps disgust with her kind. She was getting weaker by the second, at any moment she would give into the overdose she was currently reacting to. â Y..your blood...I just need a sip...your...wrist.... --- â She reached forward with whatever energy she had left to grab onto his hand. Lightly drawing him in she rose his wrist to her lips. The vein was calling out to her, beckoning her to just greedily feast. â I...I wonât..I wonât hurt you... --- â She whispered before leaning in, letting her fangs latch onto his skin, piercing it...letting his sweet blood fill her mouth as she took small mouthfuls. Already she could feel the toxins being pushed from her body as the bloodlust intoxication washed over her.Â
Oliver shook his head, he really didnât have the supplies to help her through a withdrawal. He didnât know what she was on and withdrawal could end in fatality if he didnât go through the proper procedure. âI should take you to the hospital, theyâre your best chance.â He hushed her softly, wiping tears away âIâll do everything I can, I promise.â A skeptical look came across his face âA vampire? Querida, this must be the drugs. Vampires are mythical creatures.â His brow furrowed âYou took it all at once?â Oliver sighed heavily âÂżPor quĂ©?â He murmured quietly, taking her hand âI want to make it stop, I wish I could. Let me take you to the hospital, they can make it stop.â
As soon as he mentioned hospital she shook her head as frantically as she could. There was nothing a hospital could do for her, especially for the unknown drugs flowing through her blood. â N...No! Please...I canât...they canât help...they canât... â She tried to get out the best she could. The tears kept streaming despite his efforts to wipe them away. â My kind ex...exists...a few are in this hotel...Iâll pro...prove it... â She tensed up as she gave into the other burning desire that kept trying to surface; her bloodlust. She hadnât fed in a long while, just the drugs were keeping her high enough to where she could forget her meals. Opening her mouth she showed him as her fangs made themselves known. â P...please...help me...blood...something...please...I donât want to die...please... --- â she begged almost in a sob.Â
Oliver felt her shivering in his arms, he knew she was going through withdrawal, and he brushed a hand over her hair âI know, I know you donât. Iâm going to help, Iâm gonna make you feel better.â He breathed, hoping he wasnât making empty promises. Oliver knelt by the bed he had set her on and covered her with the comforter âNothing, nothing is happening, I didnât pay to get anything from you. You need to withdraw from whatever it is youâre on.â He shook his head âNo, princesa, you donât need more stuff. What is the stuff, do you know?âÂ
Small droplets of sweat formed on her forehead as she knotted her brows together. She wanted this pain to end...it was worse than any pain she had ever felt in the duration of her life. â H...how can you help...? â She whimpered, tears slowly falling despite her efforts to keep them in. The last thing she wanted was a client to see her like this. The warmth of the comforter eased her chills down slightly before they picked up again, her eyes shutting slightly. â I...I am not...Iâm not mortal...Iâm a vampire...normal drugs donât....they donât work for me. So I grew my own stuff...and when that stopped working...I grew stronger....and my boss...he gave me other things...I never took everything all at once before...I just want it to stop...please make it stop... --- â She closed her eyes tighter.Â
Oliver knew better than to draw attention to a pimp or a drug dealer, it would make things worse for someone and he knew that was either the girl using him as support or himself but neither were okay with him. He couldnât just walk away from her, from this situation and live with himself âSh, sh, come on, I have a room just down the hall.â Gently, he lifted the girl up into his arms as she nearly collapsed and swiftly carried her back to his room where he laid her in the bed âYouâre okay, princesa, youâll be fine.â
â A room...? Hmm.... â She sighed softly in a slightly pain filled moan. As he lifted her into his arms she leaned into his chest shivering from the aftermath of the many drugs she had flowing through her system. â I...donât feel...I donât feel good... â She whispered whimpering softly. Before she knew it, she was on a soft bed. Melody turned slightly the best she could and curled up shaking slightly worse than she was before. â W...whatâs ha...happening...? I...I need more stuff... --- â She murmured about her drugs, about how much she needed it to keep her going for the time being.Â
Oliver noted the fact that she looked around nervously and heaved a sigh âAlright, alright, mi Diosââ He trailed away, yanking his sleeve down and pulling his wallet out of his back pocket âYou said two hundred, sĂ?â The dark haired male pulled two one hundred dollar bills out of his wallet, extending it to the girl âIâm paying, you donât have to go anywhere.â Oliver reached out to catch her as she stumbled âPor favor, bella, come with me.â
She kept her eyes locked on her boss and gulped as the male spoke up again. â Y...yeah...200... â She glanced back at the guy as he pulled out his wallet. Why was he paying after he just said no? He should have just let her go so she could take whatever punishment she had coming. As soon as her boss saw the money he backed off and walked away. She leaned into his arms slightly as she lost balance, the drugs taking a bad effect on her. â S...sorry...not usually like this... --- â She apologized as her knees buckled underneath her.Â
Oliver sighed, it hurt his very heart to see a girl like this so obviously getting mixed up in the wrong crowd. With gentle hands he reached out and took the girlâs forearms âListen to me, bella, tell me what youâve gotten yourself into and Iâll help you. I donât want anything from you.â The Spaniard rolled up his sleeve to reveal a very prominent gang tattoo âIf you know what this is, then you know I can help you fix things.â
She was zoning in and out, her eyes widening as he took her forearms. She had to look around slightly in case one of the men she worked for was watching. â You canât touch me like that...not without money...I... â She let her eyes slightly focus on his tattoo and looked away staying silent for a moment, her eyes raising slightly to meet one of the men she owed money to. He didnât look happy. â I...I have to go... --- â She pulled herself away slightly stumbling past him.Â
âAlright, and?â Sera asked, growing more annoyed with Mel than she originally intended. Everything was always Seraâs fault when it came to whatever Mel was feeling, and carrying that weight on her shoulders was getting a little hard to handle. âA bond? You donât know where I am at all times, you canât read my mind, just like I canât read yourâs.â With a sigh, Sera rested her hands on her lap, her eyes looking towards the ceiling. âWhy are you seeing clients? Whatâs the point of that? What are you getting out of that?â
â And... â She moved her head down so her cheek could rest on the bar counter. She felt the world zooming by and she was just existing for the moment, it was a numbing feeling if she had to admit it. â I may not know! â She started her finger pointing in the air lazily â But...I feel where you are...like a tug...constantly. â Her hand dropped onto the counter as she exhaled. â Iâm seeing them because I can...because they want me...even if itâs for a moment...or a few hours...they want me and in those moments Iâm the only thing that matters. --- â She turned her head away closing her eyes.Â
âHa ha, yeah we canât be doing that anymore.â Noah said casually looking around making sure a certain vampire of his wasnât nearby âThanks for the offer though kidâ
â Of course we can...we were always discreet...look...Iâll fuck you for free. What do you say? --- â She moved her hands up and down his chest slowly, then to the waist of his jeans.Â
âSorry, princesa, I donât pay for pleasure.â Oliver knew that look, he saw it far more often on less pretty faces than the girlâs before him. âWhat have you taken?â
â You sure? I bet...I bet I could change your mind. â She looked down into her lap. â Nothing...look...Iâll do anything you want you know...I just...I just you know need the money or some bad things will happen. --- â She spoke up so far gone, her words however nothing but truthful.Â
Sera frowned hearing her sisterâs words. She was beautiful and smart, but going down a destructive path that was only going to end up hurting her, Sera didnât know when she became the responsible one, but she wasnât too fond of it - being the mother, the older sister, despite them being close enough to the same age. âWhere was I supposed to look, Mel?â She asked, her voice soft as she moved to sit beside the brunette. âWhen you wanna disappear, you do a good job. You turn your phone off and Iâm not a psychic, I donât know where to follow - but youâre back now, and I donât want you to leave again, unless youâre taking me with you.â
Melody couldnât help the tears, it seemed it was all she did these days. Cried. She was disgusted with herself, disgusted with her feelings, just all around sick with herself. Instead of letting her sister close to her she shook her head lightly leaning away. â You know Sera...there is a thing called a bond. We got that you know? â She slurred before standing up once more, or attempting to stand, clearly failing. â Iâll have to leave again...if I have a client. â She popped the T, looking up and around for a possible male to seduce. â Just go away...your new life awaits you...without me clearly. --- â
Holding her sisterâs waist as she stumbled closer, Sera frowned as she supported the girlâs weight. âHow come?â She asked, moving her sisterâs arm to her shoulder so she could move her to a chair. âIâve missed you.â
â Because! â She started moving herself free from her sisters grasps. â Everyone has someone and is all bullshit coo coo bananas happy! Nothing was here for me...nothing. â She laughed at the situation, letting it slowly die. â No you didnât...didnât bother to look for me. --- â
âWoah,â Matty exclaimed at the sudden embrace. Leaning away from her lips slightly, he shook his head. âLets uh, lets get you to bed, alright? What did you take?â
Melody was shocked by his response to her. She thought maybe he liked her? That he would want to sleep with her? Or maybe heâd be happy to see her? â No....No...Iâm fine, Iâm fine. â She waved her hand slowly and wobbly taking off her shoes. â Many things...my drugs...they stopped working... --- â
