I think people are being way to negative about sram. I honestly think its one of the best written remakes out there, I think people that are criticizing the show too much are missing three big key points.
1. The best thing about the skam universe is that you get the same story but in different ways, thats what made druck and skam españa so good and loved, this remake is focusing on the struggles, like I get it they could have still have more cute moments but this is clearly the direction they wanted for this remake and they are doing it well.if you want lighter story watch the other remakes I think it actually completes the universe to have this more angsty (for lack of better word) version.
2. Sram is prioritizing character depth over the relationship, both characters are so well written and feel so real, all the decisions they make are absolutely in characters and they are even predictable because of how well we know them by now, and the reason we do is because they have chosen to, instead of showing us more cute relationship moments, to show us moments that are very telling of how the characters feel at different times with dif people etc.
3. Their relationship has never been built on cute moments together its always been about the inability to stay away from each other. This is the point that makes me most sad that people are missing cuz its so good, it proves how much they want to be together, they have had more struggles and fights and still they always go to each other cuz they cant not to, lovro has pushed Ivan away or left him so many times but ivan still goes to him when asked, no hesitation and lovro no matter how confused and afraid he is he still keeps reaching out to him. Like they have so many obstacles but they cant help wanting to be together.
GOD I LOVE THIS SHOW

“i'm sure that in a parallel universe there's an Isak and an Even who's lying in the exact same way in the exact same place, only, like… the curtains are a different color or something…"
"So… yellow curtains then?”

from only holding ivan’s sleeve to fully hugging him by the waist on his tomos
people creating unnecessary drama about the so called "lack of intimacy", when even just watching them bumping helmets against each other like that made my heart beat faster...what do these people know about queer love 😭😭
I’ve had this thought in my mind for some time and I need to share it. I’m kinda obsessed with how the original Even and later his remake versions are basically the only example of a manic pixie dream BOY character I can think of. And it’s crazy how they created a character who fits this stereotype of a quirky, mysterious, unattainable love interest who opens the eyes of the main character to a happier and more authentic life and they literally made that character mentally ill and manic at that.
You can also see how this trope manifests in the way Isak lives a very boring life and Even comes in with all these massive emotions both good and bad. It’s like he has the power to turn Isak’s whole life upside down when he appears.
I love the journey we go on with Even from seeing him as this too good to be true love interest to then kind of breaking the illusion as Isak discovers Even’s illness and loses hope for the relationship. Then in the end we see Even as his true self who’s just human like everybody else. I think this is my favourite part of the Even character and that’s why I eat it up every single time.
And I think this is why the going back and forth between Isak and Sonja works. At this stage in the story Even is supposed to be perceived as elusive and uncontrollable so Isak and the viewers might forgive him a bit more easily. Then when Sonja tells Isak that Even is manic and doesn’t actually love him it feels like a charm is lifted off of Isak or as if he woke up from a dream.
