whole note / closed with noisemaster
“Naw, man, ‘s right here in 006! We got time to kill if ya wanna chill a bit longer.”
It wasn’t like Noisemaster had any plans for the day; anything he might’ve done went out the window the moment he felt Mutemaster’s presence in the city. Normally, he’d be happier hanging out indoors, but he could tell that his buddy was a little beat. Noise didn’t blame him. A big city like this, all the noise and commotion… Poor guy was gonna have to adjust fast. Luckily for him, he wasn’t going to have to share an apartment with some loud, nosy, one-armed brat.
But hey, they had a lot to catch up on! Noise didn’t know how long it’d been for Mute since they split, what with all the weird jacked-up timeline stuff Noise and Princess Nautilus had talked about ages ago. It had to have been a pretty long time for Mute, though, considering how it’d been seven freakin’ months for Noise.
"Yo, so what’s the word from Dreamside? You been doin’ aiight? I ain’t happy that I had to leave ya flyin’ solo, but it ain’t like I got a choice comin’ here or not. What’s the Hero been up to? How Rose n’ the others been?”
It was a lot of questions at once, but Noise was in a good mood, and when he was in a good mood, he loved to talk. He didn’t mind waiting for Mute to answer.
He was relieved to hear that the place wasn't that far -- trekking across this colossal city, as overwhelming and noisy as it was, had tuckered him out quite a bit. Chilling with his pal didn't sound like a half bad idea.
Lazily, he'd shift among the grass in attempt to get more comfortable, eyes still locked on the colorful form resting atop his head. It was nostalgic, like old times -- excluding the fact that Noise seemed completely confused, inquiring about things long past, or about things that had never occurred. Bewildered, the larger disaster master would give a bemused hum in response, questioning as to what his counterpart was talking about.
"...mm?"
What does he mean? Does he not remember what happened?
