"May I join you, my King?"
It's done! My first Captive Prince fanart <3
Honestly, after that last interview with SJM, I've lost all hope.
One ironic thing about Maas’s comparison between Tamlin and Rhys is that Rhys only functions as the supposedly perfect romantic partner because of Tamlin’s character destruction.
Guys... Today I debated with a die-hard Rhysand fan.
She said that Amarantha abusing Rhysand was Tamlin's fault.
*extremely audible sigh
Reasons why I still like Tamlin and prefer him over Rhysand and I always will, day 9:
- Rhysand entered Feyre's mind without permission when they weren't yet a couple (again), and made her think she was trying on lingerie for him.
"Something's funny?"
What a wonderful moment!
When they judge Tamlin for saying what he said to Feyre at the HL meeting, but I would have done much worse in his place.
This remains true.
i'm always a slut for tamlin
Aimeric *irritates Laurent
Damen automatically: throw him off the walls.
- Prince's Gambit, Chapter 19.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rhysand: I fucked your fiancée! Hahahahah!
Tamlin: I fucked your mate.
Rhysand: ...
Tamlin: heheh.
my favorite thing about sarcean is that he ain't even a "omg do u think he liiiiikes me 🥺" ass bitch. he's a "i know that man desires me carnally and i'm gonna make him forsake his vows and betray his kingdom just to get some of this dick" ass bitch and it WORKS
Okay, I might be wrong about this but in ACoTaR didn’t it say that Amarantha lowkey forgot about Feyre? Like she wasn’t even thinking about her until Rhysand brought her to the party? Cause if that is true it makes all of his actions so much more sinister. Like getting her drunk wasn’t for her “protection” as I have seen people claim, it was purely to piss off Tamlin. It also puts Feyre in more danger since Amarantha would get super mad. And most importantly it affected her image throughout the rest of the books, i guarantee you people would have respected her so much more had their impression of her not been “human who got drunk and gave Rhysand lap dances”
We're supposed to believe that Rhysand and the IC treat Nesta the way they do, because her treatment of Feyre offends their morality. We're talking about the same people, who joke about beating an 11 year old boy with burnt hands, because he couldn't fly. These are the people, who find Nesta's rude words to Feyre so atrocious. They are also shocked by the fact that Feyre hunted at 14,while saying how they would like to have Illyrian female soldiers. The training system for Illyrian soldiers means training since 8,under harsh conditions, which includes getting beaten for discipline. They're not shocked by this in the slightest, they want to extend that to girls, but they find a 14 year old hunting the most shocking thing ever. It's not a matter of morality. They know that this has upset Feyre, they know that she blames Nesta and not her father for hunting and they punish her accordingly.Their mentality is "If sb somehow upsets one of our own, they will be punished for it,whether it's right or not."There's a reason they don't have any real friends or meaningful relationships except one another. They made Feyre one of their own, because she's Rhysand's mate.Other than that they trust noone.Rhysand didn't trust Helion with Feyre's pregnancy, which means that he doesn't really consider him a friend, but merely an ally and Varian can't be with Amren without essentially betraying his own HL .This is a toxic clique.
Said it all
I think it's wild to say that you're antisemitic and misogynistic for calling out SJM. She has done documentedly bad things towards poc communities and has expressed that her birth right trip was a "magical experience". and this doesn't even include the *text* where she writes brown and black people, especially brown and black women, in a very negative light
there ARE racism issues in her books. she HAS expressed positive intentions towards Israel before. If she truly cared about Palestinians and was not a zionist she would have needed to just post a statement condemning Israel after uplifting it years ago
it is not misogynistic, antisemitic or engaging in purity culture to listen to brown and black women boycotting these books and educating people for freeeee on how problematic or harmful SJM has been to their communities
If sacrificing your court, your continent and yourself is the bare minimum then I’m so so happy I am a Tamlin stan girlie.
Because it’s stupid people like these that have a name like abcdeg and forget f before g that would say bullshit like this 🤣🤣
You could make a list of Tamlin's accomplishments, right? But...
Tamlin is a good male indepth list:
Protected Lucien.
Tamlin saved Lucien from being executed by his father, the High Lord of the Autumn Court, after Lucien refused to marry a noblewoman chosen for him. Tamlin then killed one of Lucien's brothers to get Lucien out and took him in as a friend and emissary, despite the risk. Provided care for him post-losing his eye.
Took in Alis and Her Nephews:
Tamlin allowed her to stay in his court as a servant and protector of the household and treated her with respect. Trusted her enough to share details of the blight and of his history with Amarantha.
Financially Supported Feyre’s Family and Healed Papa Archeron's Leg:
After taking Feyre to the Spring Court, Tamlin secretly made sure her family was taken care of. He sent them gold and provisions, ensuring they lived in comfort after years of hardship. All without fanfare or credit.
Tried to Woo Feyre Gently:
Tamlin didn’t pressure Feyre aggressively. He gave her space and tried to earn her trust with small kindnesses, like sending her paints and giving her freedom around the court. Playing the Fiddle for her. Writing Limmericks for her to help her learn how to read, after offering to help her more directly, but she refused. Showing her around the court (the rose garden, the starpool, the art gallery).
Told her: “Don’t feel bad for one moment about doing what brings you joy.”
Helped the Dying Faerie Who Lost His Wings:
Tamlin does everything he can to ease the faerie’s pain. He tries to use his magic to heal him, even though the injuries are too severe. He stays by the faerie's side, comforts him, and ultimately gives him a peaceful death.
Allowed Feyre to Leave:
Even knowing the curse might never be broken, Tamlin let Feyre go back to her family. He truly believed he was protecting her from Amarantha’s wrath.
Refused to Betray Feyre Under the Mountain & Engaged in The only consensual scene at all UTM.
Was the first High Lord to give a drop of his power to bring her back to life.
Without that act of selflessness, Feyre wouldn't have been resurrected as High Fae.
Promised to break her unwanted bargain:
And loses everything for it. To me this was a selfless, brave, and caring gesture. He saw how distressed she was over the bargain, while still UTM, and promised her that he would find a way out of it for her.
Thank you 💞💞💞
