In my 20s I wasn’t real. I was trying to be everything to everybody WHICH left me feeling like nothing and having nobody. Today, I’m seeing people (and myself) from a different lens. I realized I’ve been hard on myself and I’m my biggest critic. do you have that voice in your head telling you you’re not good enough, or you messed up, or you are not achieving your best life? My mean thoughts allowed other people to criticize/ abuse me just as much as I was mean to myself. So everyone says, be kind to others, flood with world with kindness, but I’m here to say KINDNESS STARTS WITH BEING KIND TO YOURSELF. I don’t talk about this, but my childhood was filled with unkind emotional & physical abuse. School felt like a war zone, I ate lunch in the bathroom daily, home was not a safe place, and I lived in constant fear (hence why I’m so encouraging and positive now). In Reflecting, I want to live intentional so my mistakes in life can help people know things I WISH I KNEW, like 🚩RED FLAGS in people, relationships, & family so it would of saved me from 5+ years of abuse, low self Esteem and trying to “save” other people. I’m dating again so Comment below red flags that we can all 👀watch out for! I wish I knew: 🚩red flags 🚩 1. Cheating! Zero Tolerance for cheating or purposely flirting. There are no exceptions besides counseling- but even after counseling, this could be a behavioral pattern that is hard to break. A person can’t change their character but they can change their ACT for 1-5 years before reverting back to cheating. Once a person cheats, it just the beginning. 2. Lack of Communication. If someone only hits you up at night time or when it’s convenient for them to see you, it’s a red flag. Everyone is busy, right? But if you care for someone, you take the extra step to CALL daily and have dialogue 3. Alcoholism or substance abuse. Run. I was in this 2-3 yr relationship with a ex thinking he would “change.” The only thing they change is hiding their habit and change to a gf who will support their alcoholism 4. Name Calling. It’s cute when people call me shorty,(bc I’m 5’2) but when it turns into harsh names...Let that person know it not okay to be addressed that way. Exes called dumbass, stupid, headass, and it always gets worse and more violent names get used as the relationship continues 5. Narcissist and Gas Lighting- please google these terms- it will save you from a failed relationship. My ex was a Narcissistic alcoholic Abuser. There are 2 people in this world 1. Empath( which is me, I care about others so much I put my feelings/wants aside to help others. Empaths enjoy alone time and self reflect) 2. Narcissist (they only care about themselves, always promote a good image to others and have no feelings in regard to who they hurt. They can’t be alone with themselves, never apologize and can’t self reflect) 6. Do they ask questions about you? Your childhood? Who is your role Model? Your feelings and emotions? Happy Holidays from my heart to yours! Some of you that know my story of highs, lows and adversity faced. My philosophy is to look at the lessons I learned and the POSITIVE growth I went through. Here are a few things 2018 lessons learned & DROP A COMMENT of what 2018 taught you: 1. don’t take anything personally. What other people do, act, or say is a projection of their own thoughts and feelings on others. I shouldn’t take their actions or words personally because it is mirroring how they feel on their inside. What REALLY matters is how i feel about myself and once I have that self love- no ones words can take that from me. 2. I have no influence on others actions. I can’t cause someone to react the way they do. Some people said I make them say and react a certain way based on my behavior....that is not true! It is that persons CHOICE to respond to a situation 3. Self love is not about getting your nails done 💅 to me, self love is about being alone, sitting in silence, feeling the most un-loving or dark aspects about myself, and STILL choosing to love all of me- not just the fun, happy parts of myself 4. People can’t make you happy or sad. 5. I’m a stress eater who is obsessed with Chik fil a, Chipotle, IHOP, & P.F. Chang’s (I eat it once a week) 6. I want to own my voice, own my actions. Saying sorry is very powerful and I want to show up in the world as a person who fearlessly speaks my mind, especially about adversity and the philanthropies I believe in. 7. Be kind to everyone- because I never know what struggles or troubles they are going through. Im only on earth for a short time, so why not be loving and kind to everyone?!?! 8. There is no timeline for life. Society is wrong...I don’t have to be married, have kids, or a house by a certain timeline or at all. The timeline of my life is defined by giving as much love & charity while we are here! . To my followers/ supporters- I love u all!
