“It is said that the gods control Air, Fire, and Earth.
For the hardened and reliable, Earth is governed by Mianite. He gives us strength through its ores, wealth through its jewels, and home through its lands. Earth is the very thing of which we grow upon, and that which nurtures us.
Fire is fickle and dangerous, yet warm when under control. Dianite rewards those with ambition, who are not afraid to stray too close to the flame. You receive his warmth and gain his bounty from the structures long forgotten in his realm. Get too close to the heat and he burns you, pushing you back from arrogance with a cruel fist.
Air is steady and endless. It is present through every land you visit, through each realm you explore. Even in the bottomless Void you can feel its presence. Balance, of which Ianite keeps, is ever present, just like the air. With every movement we displace it, for every action there is a reaction. It is a constant flow that cannot be dispersed, even when you cannot feel it at all.
But what controls Water? An ageless question.
Some say Mianite does, as where do we see water most but on his realm? But even the Earth is dwarfed by its expanse at times. It does not offer the same luxuries as Earth does, nor does is come as hardened or sturdy as it.
Others claim Ianite holds it. It flows just as air does and seems ever constant. But her realm is filled with people who shy from water and run from rain. Why would she allow her own people to be unable to experience an element of her own?
Most believe it is the last element that Light and Dark preside over.
Me? I believe someone else lurks over it. What gives more life than water? What brings more death than the dark pit of the sea? It gives and takes and shows us that for all something saves us, it can ruin just as well.
Perhaps, some long forgotten entity held the ocean. And now? Perhaps it has been taken by its own element.”
