I've gone back and forth on whether or not to speak on this. Generally, I’m only here to get my fix on all things Michael—the pictures, the videos, the stories, and the art. Lately, though, it’s been impossible to ignore the drama filling the tags and my timeline. Between Black writers experiencing racism and people constantly criticizing creative content, it feels like we are losing the plot.
Speaking as one of the older fans in this community, it's disheartening. If we call ourselves Moonwalkers, our interactions should reflect the values Michael stood for. He was a peaceful person who deeply loved humanity, the world, and his fans. I won't dive too deeply into the racism discourse today, other than to state a simple fact: whether people want to acknowledge it or not, Michael was a Black American. He endured segregation and the intense racism that followed him even as he became the greatest entertainer who ever lived. Seeing prejudice within his own fandom is completely out of touch with his legacy.
What I primarily want to address, though, is the ongoing discourse among fanfic writers regarding what "should" and "shouldn't" be filling the tags. The reality of this fandom is that it accommodates every genre—smut, angst, and fluff alike.
As an avid reader, I adore reading everything. I consume fluff, smut, and angst without hesitation—if a story sticks out to me, I'm going to read it. I genuinely believe everyone on this platform is talented in their own unique shape, way, or form. As a writer myself, I’ve written in all of these categories, so I see the value in every single one of them.
My stance—and this is just my opinion—is that none of this needs to be a battleground.
If you don't enjoy smut, you have every right to skip it, but criticizing people for writing or reading adult themes is unnecessary. By the same token, fluff writers shouldn't be criticized for creating soft, sweet scenarios; sometimes people just need a comforting escape. And angst writers shouldn't be criticized for diving into heavier emotional tones—writing through pain, heartbreak, and struggle is often how people process complex feelings or highlight Michael's resilience. Most importantly, no one's writing should be ignored or cast aside simply because it doesn't fit someone else's personal preference. Every author puts time and heart into their work, and that effort deserves respect.
Social media gives us all the tools to curate our own reading experience. If a trope or genre isn't your thing, you can simply scroll past, filter the tags, and engage with the stories that bring you joy without making others feel invisible.
Michael Jackson was many things: incredibly gorgeous, deeply kind, and a dedicated humanitarian. But above all, he was a human being—complex, multifaceted, and real. Fiction reflects that full spectrum.
Furthermore, we have to remember the operative word here is fanfiction. Expecting 100% biographical or historical accuracy from writers who are doing this for free, purely out of passion, is an unfair expectation. Yes, we know the reality of his financial situation and debt later in life, despite his massive assets. But criticizing a writer for creating a fantasy where he buys a reader lavish gifts completely misses the point of creative writing.
What I'm getting at is that maybe we need to take a collective step back and remember why we're all here. We are a community built on a shared love for Michael and his art. Let's bring back the "don't like, don't read" mentality, appreciate and uplift the talent in our community across every genre instead of criticizing or ignoring it, and get back to enjoying the man who brought us all together in the first place.
It’s funny when I see someone say Michael is innocent and some niggas think the same goes for R kelly, p diddy , Chris brown , Tory lanez like oh no I think those mfs are definitely guilty asf
jealous micheal..? thriller/bad era but i’m not picky 😋
݁ ˖Ი𐑼⋆Jealous type • Bad!Michael x reader
⤷ ゛Synopsis ˎˊ˗ When you're at a party Michael cant help but get jealous at the guy trying to sweep his woman off her feet !
𑣲⋆ warnings : none !
Michael wouldn't necessarily say he was the jealous type —no, he wouldn't say that at all. But the fact that this guy was undressing you with his eyes as you two spoke only made his blood boil way past its boiling point. Even worse was that he really didn't want to be at this party in the first place. Though it was for him and the celebration of the new album, put together by Quincy himself, he'd much rather be at home laying in bed or watching a show with you than here, where people pulled him every which way, cracking jokes that he found less than funny given the circumstances.
You wore that dress that completely hugged you in all the right places, that color that sat perfectly against your soft skin, hair and makeup done flawlessly because you sat in the mirror for hours perfecting the look while Michael admired from the doorway. And now here another guy was admiring you and you were somehow completely oblivious.
You were laughing, your hands covering your mouth, your drink swishing lightly against the glass, chasing its tail before settling back down in the glass as you nodded, a polite smile playing out on your face. His jaw clenched, just barely noticeable to anyone who was paying close attention.
“Mike? Mike? Are you there, man?” Quincy stuck his hand out, waving it in front of his face to catch his attention.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m listening, Q.” He clearly was not; his eyes were too busy focused on the scene unfolding in front of him.
"Tell me what I just said then." They both knew he wasn't listening; I mean, it was clear as day.
"Fine, Q, I'm not listening. I mean, how can I focus when that guy is talking to my girlfriend... give me a moment." Quincy's eyes followed Michael's, eventually landing on you and your smiling form, an audible "ooh" escaping from Quincy's mouth before Michael was already weaving through the crowd.
"I'd love to have dinner sometime to discuss it." The unfamiliar man leaned forward, a hopeful smile stretching wide across his face before the familiar warmth of Michael's hand wrapped around your waist, pulling you close.
“Baby, Q wants to talk to you,” his fingers dug into the skin of your waist, not enough to hurt you, just enough to show this guy exactly who you were with.
“Sorry, my boyfriend needs me,” you smiled, just in time for Michael to pull you in the direction Quincy was in.
“I bet Quincy didn't need to talk to me, you just wanted to pull me away,” you giggled, nudging his arm.
“Yeah? So what? I need you right next to me for the rest of the night.”

I genuinely think some of yall are losing the plot. The entire point of being a fanfic writer is to write YOUR fantasies and enjoy other people’s work.
I personally don’t see the issue in people writing smut or fluff content. To each its own.
But shaming people for how they choose to fantasize is insane. (And no I am absolutely NOT defending that weirdo. Yall know who I’m talking about, she took it way too far)
I’m so over yall treating Michael like an infant. Are yall forgetting this was the same man fantasizing and GAWKING over women because he’s still just a man at the end of the day?? I seriously doubt he would gaf about his fans writing stories, especially in his later years. Obviously this doesn’t apply to him in the 70s-late 80s.
It’s FANTASY. Literal FANTASY! People don’t need to write their stories 100% accurate because it’s literally a figment of their imagination…are we forgetting that???
Michael helps reader take down her braids and washes her hair🥰🥰
݁ ˖Ი𐑼⋆ wash day • Michael x reader
⤷ ゛Synopsis ˎˊ˗ Mike helps you with wash day !
𑣲⋆ warnings : none !
Riah's note ! : okay not my best work, but I wanted to get something out spare me plz 🤕
You were dreading it. The thought of holding your arms up for the next few hours was enough to make you almost shiver as you sat on the floor with a pillow underneath you to protect you from the hardness of the floor. Your favorite show acted as background music as the sound floated into the bedroom. You took a few braids, not meaning to hack at them so roughly with the more than dull scissors from the previous times you'd used them to cut your braids, wincing from the tension it was putting on the delicate strands as you dropped the extra length. Your rat tail comb got started on unraveling the once neat braids as you let out an already exhausted sigh, knowing that hours of unraveling and detangling would be in your foreseeable future.
It was only a few minutes into your takedown, a small pile of the discarded hair sitting next to you in a neat pile, as you leaned against the foot of the bed. The faint, quiet creak of the wooden door scraping against the frame of the door gave away Michael's presence before he even made himself known as he stepped closer, his feet padding lightly against the floor.
“Baby?” he called out, a soft chuckle falling from his lips, mixing with the sounds of the TV that filled the room.
“Hey, Mikey,” you spoke, leaning into the warmth of his touch as his lips pressed against your temple, almost making the dull ache that built up in your arms disappear.
“Let me help you,” he sat on the foot of the bed, the mattress dipping under his weight as he adjusted himself, your head resting comfortably between his legs as he took one of your braids, careful not to tangle your strands with each other.
“Thank you,” you let your eyes flutter shut as Michael let his fingers take over the braid you were working so hard to unravel, making progress quicker than you would on your own, his years of practice now showing in the way he took care of each braid as the time ticked by, each episode of your show passing by with the outro playing on repeat.
“How do your arms feel?” He spoke, running his fingers through the section he'd just taken down.
“Like Jello,” you sighed, tossing your head back as you slipped your arms down to your sides, giving them a break from the time-consuming takedown.
“Yeah?” He chuckled softly before he spoke again. “Let's get you washed,” he softly spoke, quickly getting up to grab a towel, and as you made your way to the sink.
The strands of your fro thick with the buildup of gel, as you turned on the water, wetting the tips of your fingers to make sure it wasn't scalding hot, dipping your head under the faucet, the constant stream of water running throughout your curls, springing them back to life as Michael let his calloused fingers massage your scalp before taking a few pumps of shampoo, coating every strand, taking his time to give your hair the TLC it desperately needed, a satisfying hum escaping your mouth.
“Is that good?” He spoke, rinsing thoroughly, watching as the buildup and shampoo washed away.
“Mhm, it feels nice,” you whispered, like you were so close to falling asleep right on the spot as he ran the conditioner through your hair, taking a minute to give you another scalp massage. Your eyes fluttered open before shutting again, the warmth of the water soothing you as he rinsed it out, stopping the water, placing the towel over your head, gently drying the dampening curls.
“There you go,” he ruffled the towel against your hair one last time, stepping back to admire his work.
"Thank you, Mikey," you giggled, attempting to keep the towel balanced on your head.
"Of course, baby," he pressed a tender kiss to your lips.
So sorry to all the bad bitches that I forgot. If y'all know anybody that I forgot, tell me in the comments so I can either add them if I know them, or if you wanna reblog this and tag somebody that you know that I did not add.
But do you guys see how long this list is? Do you see how many Black mutuals I have? This is an accomplishment for me. Hell yes. This is what we like to see.
