*BOOK SPOILERS AHEAD*

Idk if this is an unpopular opinion or hot take, but I honestly never thought Jeremiah's character was destroyed in the 3rd book. The only thing that got assassinated was Jeremiah and Belly's friendship and I'm more mad at Jenny Han about that than anything else. The way I saw it, Conrad was the better romantic relationship option and Jeremiah was her best friend and I loved their friendship and they were WAY better as friends. The beginning of the third book I thought just showed how Belly and Jeremiah didn't really work together and how different they actually are. I think they both realized it too which is why the book got so messy, because their friendship was ruined so it was like "we stay together and salvage what we had or we break up and lose each other". it always seemed like Jeremiah loved her more than she loved him which was kinda sad to me in a way. Belly and Jeremiah were a pack of sparklers- it's pretty and fun and there's a bunch of sparks but Belly and Conrad were a whole firework show, sparks and explosions and lighting up the whole sky.

If you haven’t gotten your hands on this YA “Knives Out” meets Gossip Girl meets Nancy Drew you allure ABSOLUTELY missing out. The mystery solving, love triangle filled book is exactly what I needed to get me out of my reading slump. Plus those Hawthorne Brothers? 🔥 the only reason this book didn’t get my full 5 stars is because I have to wait until SEPTEMBER to get my hands on the sequel!
