The forecast has been extreme rain and thunderstorms but not only did we wake up to no rain and gorgeous sunshine but for a brief moment this rainbow stroke was painted in the sky; containing a gift and a reminder for my heart, a glimpse of the divine. Have had more encounters with fish in this past month than in my life likely! This probably deserves a spot on the grid. Fish for breakfast, lunch, dinner and fish to share with all the neighbours. Sashimi for days (and days). How many ways can you cook fish? Seems the best way is to not cook it. Fresh is best. I haven't really seen fish this big, caught, and then cut. Quite the experience! Back to the first beach I went to when I first arrived in Auckland; where I'd gone to isolate to think - to make serious life decisions, quite a few years ago. I had forgotten all about the place or its name. Wild and black sanded, this revisiting is a potent reminder of the core of things. Saw the sun rise as a red ball on the horizon this morning. I think (or at least I felt) every swimmer, surfer, walker, fishing boat, jet skier stop to properly regard this spectacular performance. I was simultaneously humbled, inspired and touched. Itās like the sun saying: āThe night is over. Yesterday is gone - Here is a fresh new day. Here is light, energy and warmth.
