mike headcanons? (begging pathetically with a big sad frown)
works at an on-campus book shop during college!! whenever someone asks him a question (ex. "what books are similar to __", where can I find __") he can and will launch into a lengthy ramble about the books. if he doesn't like it then he will definitely advise against getting it, and if he loves it then he'll just talk and talk and talk and not realize that the person who asked doesn't want to listen anymore (he's so socially unaware). he does give the best recommendations though
hates concerts but loves the music. his friends bring him to different concerts and while he does want to have a good time, it's really hard to enjoy it (even if he likes the music) when it's so loud, hot, crowded, and generally overwhelming
thought of mr clarke like a father figure (bc we all know ted wasn't very good)
holly wants to learn how to do makeup. nancy is at college and their mom is busy, so she doesn't know what to do until mike suggests that he teaches her. she's shocked that he knows how to do it and doesn't think that it'll be that good, but when he does it for her she is very impressed
his father used to force him into sports when he was younger (hence the random sports material in his room and garage that hold no relevance) and mike tried to do it in order to get attention from ted/to finally be the son that he wanted. he hated the sports though and couldn't find it in himself to continue faking who he was in order to get only an ounce of attention
cannot tell when people are being fake nice to him. he just answers like he usually would, a bit weirded out if one of the popular kids randomly came up to him
he also cannot tell when people are flirting with him. he thinks they're just being normal
would make himself a catchphrase. not sure what it would be but it'd annoy the heck out of the party (they find it super corny but still laugh)
based off of the frog stuffed animal from the first two seasons: one of his friends got it for him to help make him feel not so bad about being called frogface
when someone compliments him (his appearance) he doesn't believe it because of the years of bullying drilled into him that he's ugly. he would shrug off the compliment with a "sure, whatever" and an awkward laugh. if someone prodded a bit further it'd become apparent that he thinks they're lying or mistaken somehow
at least once in his life he had opened a can of soda that had been shaken without him realizing it and been sprayed in the face
would love new wave music trust me on this
i've said this before BUT all of the dnd figurines and miniatures (mike the brave, the demogorgon, hey even the wsqk bus) he painted himself
^ off of that, he would absolutely love those painting studios where you paint already make objects.
his writing would be very detailed about gory things (the exact smell of rotten flesh, the way a body looks, etc) because of his past experiences and some readers would be a bit freaked out because WHY does he know this much. surely this is not normal, even for an author
will drop the fanciest words in the most normal sentences. instead of: "hey, max, over here!" it'd be like "hey, max, come hither!" everyone thinks he's so corny for that but they wouldn't have it another way tbh
