authors note: hey! this is my first writing, please give me feedback if you think something is done badly, but otherwise I hope to start posting every now and then when my Uni doesn't overlap!! -Bree
The curtains in the room are doing a shitty job of blocking out the afternoon sun, it streamed in through the fabric, gently cascading over your back, Remi seemed to not be able to pull his eyes off you.
You’re running around the room looking for something to wear to the date later. Unknowingly allowing Remi to stare at you. his eyes soft, still just in a towel from his recent shower, his already usually dark hair looked like the sky at midnight, dripping with water.
You finally notice he’s staring. With a soft sort of love in his eyes, the kind that comes from the deepest parts of a heart. Remi’s brown eyes have an almost childlike wonder as he watches you so intently, barely even realising -or maybe he just doesn’t care- that now you’ve noticed it. chuckling awkwardly as you step around still, looking back over your shoulder every couple seconds.
“Do I look bad?” you finally swallow, asking him.
“bad?” Remi can only scoff. snapping out of his day dream.
“yes. you’re staring.. is this top not fitting right? or is it the shoes and pants? I should change you’re right.” you frantically start peeling off clothes, -not that he’s complaining-
Remi cracks his right hand’s knuckles as he steps closer, large hands enveloping your smaller ones, “baby” he murmurs, leaning down into your space, “stop. you look perfect.”
you freeze, not knowing how to react, looking back at the man who you know to be probably the most awkward guy out there, like, he struggles to form proper sentences around the media, laughing at the wrong moment every single day, this is a Remi that you don’t see often.
He’s looking at you with such love a mouse could crawl over his foot and he probably would not realise. and now the sun filtering through the window is hitting his back, making a halo looking ring around him.
Remi awkwardly moves his arms, “so.. are you gonna keep that on? because I think I’m gonna struggle to pay attention..” and there's the stupid, gawky guy you know. he breaks the silence with a laugh. waiting for your reaction.
“yeah, I guess I should.. but I don’t know if it fits right on my chest.. also why aren’t you dressed yet…” you reply, now realising Remi is yet to change.
“oh ha… right.” he steps away, reluctant to look away still, moving into the closet, grabbing the closest clothes, dropping the towel, and quickly stepping into his clothes in a manner that is very obviously as quick as possible to get back to you.
when you’re unsuspecting, he grabs you, pulling you onto the bed, now both of you fully dressed, but the man can’t help himself. You’re laughing, he’s grinning as he watches you.

I don't even go here (pro hockey), but my fellow Heated Rivalry fans you gotta stop referring to Sarah Nurse as "Svetlana" like... I love Svetlana but Sarah Nurse is a gold medal winning Olympian who has set the record for most points in a women's tournaments. She is a record setting athlete, not a side character in a sports story about two dudes. If you can remember the names of all those square jawed white men on an NHL roster, you can surely remember the names of two (2) different biracial Black women in the hockey fandom... right?
have you seen Heated rivalry?? because holy shit. i dunno if you have or haven’t but i recommend, like big time. + the book ugh, chefs kiss. but like THE TENSION HELLO!? EAT ME. I would let Ilya do whatever.

I haven't but like im really bad at watching anything tbh 🫣 I struggle to watch shows or films these days lol I still need to watch the new stranger things episodes 😅
okay but i’m terrible at like keeping my focus on shows too, dw but somehow this actually kept my attention span, like i barely watch movies and shows (i think i can pnly rly watch hockey movies and shows) but still😭
