Only Two

In the aftermath of the 2016 election cycle, I’ve been sought out for advice on moving forward within our current political system. Where do we go from here? What can we do? There isn’t one single solution or strategy for creating a more just and fair union in the United States. However, I have encouraged those who sought my advice to start local. Our communities need us more now than ever.
Here in Kentucky, there is much work to do on various social justice issues. The issue of gender parity within elected public office is one I plan to focus on. I can’t believe we’ve only had 2 women represent this state in the history of the United States Congress. Two. Both of those women held seats in the House of Representatives. There is so much history left to be made here.
