My final thoughts on my interactive art project Winter 2021
I had a lot of fun making this project. I was inspired to create an environment that people could interact with. There are a few other electrical items I would have liked to use but I am very satisfied with the results so far. I think I could use this as entertainment for guests at my house or at art shows where people could interact with the piece in a public space.
I do hope to all at least one LED strip, the fans with a push button, and finish the UV lights and possibly UV paint. I think it is a bad habit of mine to constantly move on fast. I hope I can push myself to do a little more to this project. It is fun to watch the whales spin in the lighting and watch the bubbles float up.
For possible improvements I wish I could make. I wish it was easier to find wiring diagrams and codes. I would have liked to setup more interactive functions. I would like the whales to be more secure to the motors. And the frame isn’t exactly how I planned it. Many times, as I was putting something together, I came up with a new idea but didn’t realize it caused a new issue until after I did it.
Overall, I just kept pushing and I am still happy with what I have made. I am glad my boyfriend, mom and dad helped me with ideas, coding, wiring and cutting pieces. I spent many hours brainstorming and putting everything together. I think the rewarding part is seeing people react to the piece.
Thank you for taking the time to read and view my art work and process.
