A Bit Too Much | A Week of Sweat and Love
They say when it rains, it pours, and this week was a literal downpour of "ganaps." My schedule was packed with so many events that I honestly wasn't sure if I could handle it all. The highlight, and the biggest challenge was our School Physical Education Day, last Friday.
I did not just "participate"; I was running on all cylinders. Between acting as an overall facilitator, managing the finances as the Budgeting Head, and fulfilling my duties as the Editor-in-Chief of the Trailblazer, I definitely broke a sweat. There were many late nights filled with cramming, stress, and l "fights" . However, seeing the event succeed made every bit of that exhaustion worth it. It was a chaotic, beautiful mess of hard work.
Even the school stress, I made sure to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the people who matter most: my family. We went on a bit of a road trip to visit our relatives in Buhangin, Cabantian, and Bacawa. It was a nostalgic trip; I saw relatives I had not seen in so long that I had almost forgotten their faces! Reconnecting with them reminded me of the importance of roots and staying in touch.
The week was not without its scares, though. My father had actually been in an accident recently, which shook us all. But even through that, he showed his strength and love by preparing a special Valentine's gift for my mother. We are beyond grateful to God for keeping him safe; it is a miracle he’s okay and still able to be with us.
Finally, we wrapped up the week on Sunday by heading to 'Bunawan' to visit my Granny. We spent the day accompanying her, sharing a simple but meaningful meal, and catching up through little chitchats. It was the perfect, quiet end to a very loud week.
And that is how my "Week of Love" ran , a frantic mix of duty, sweat, family, and a whole lot of grace.A Bit Too Much: A Week of Sweat and Love.
