She watched him eat in silence, raising the spoon to his mouth every time heâd finished the next proper spoonful. At the question, Andromeda inhaled a large breath before offering another small smile. âI wonât be gone more then a couple of minutes. Weâre rather close to the center of town, its safer that way. Many of the guards will be wandering about. Iâll be back before you have the time to drift away into any dreams.â Dreams wouldnât come right away, Andromeda knew that. Nightmares for a few weeks, but they would melt into something happier eventually.Â
"Weâre to close to the center of town." She repeated, offering another spoonful of soup. "The hut was chosen at random. Its extremely unlikely that they would make it this far, let alone find you in silence." Smoothing the hair away from his head, she stood once more. After setting the dishes onto the table, Andromeda settled down onto the bed beside him. Wrapping his fingers around the blade, she reached the arm across his body, stopping the point when it poked gently into her side. "Aim between the ribs around here, if you donât hit the heart, youâll at least puncture something. And if that doesnât work, go for the sides of the neck, alright?" Easing his arm back onto the bed, she stood once more. "Iâll be back shortly." With one last reassuring smile, she shuffled out the door.
Midas mentally stored away the information. He saw what the warriors did to eachother but that was nothing in comparison to what they did to him. He knew what it was like to be stabbed so he wasn't sure if he could do it to someone else. But he nodded none the less and tightened his grip on the blade. "I got it. Hurry back?"
Maybe when she was back she could teach him how to make choices when she gets back. Maybe she can tell him how to do freedom. He's entertained the idea much more but that still doesn't the guilt from bubbling away in his stomach. How can he ignore years of service. How can he ignore what they've done. How can he live a happy life without them finding him. How could he ever get over them.Â
