Okay I feel like I need to fully explain Father Figure because I love it SO much and I feel like everyone gets the gist but from the sounds of my other post, it doesn’t seem like anyone fully Gets It??? So -

It starts off from Scott Borchettas perspective, basically talking down to her. About how he’s the reason for her success, how he “made” her [famous], how he is the protective patriarch of her life and career and will take down anybody who gets in their way (“because my dicks bigger”). But secretly despite being a father figure their relationship is purely transactional - “this love is pure profit, just step into my office”. The first two verses take on this perspective.

Then at the bridge she basically becomes aware of this dynamic and how he’s changing for his self interest. So she rises up, in a very cinematic didn’t-know-you-poisoned-my-drink kind of vibe, proves that HER dick was bigger all along, and now she’s taken it out from under him and is the one in charge of her own family - aka her masters and her entire catalogue.

GOD. HOLY FUCK. I FUCKING LOVE IT.
